Vitamin C may limit muscle growth according to a recent rat study. However, the study has significant limitations for applying it to humans, including that it used a massive dose of vitamin C in rats and an extreme muscle overload model. More research is needed, but moderate vitamin C intake is unlikely to negatively impact muscle growth in humans following normal resistance training.
