2. Project Summary
Alternative final deliverables have been set and agreed upon.
Unanticipated crash of server. Impacted about 18% of timeline.
Some work had to be re-coded.
Server restored March 13th but with slightly older versions of
software.
Client established three critical use cases to complete given the time
left in the project
3. Project Challenges
The server we were working on had a hardware malfunction and
crashed.
The group participated in the restoring of the SQL server database
on the server once it was reprovisioned.
Due to the two week delay, the group developed an alternate
mode of work
4. Milestone Assessment - Summary
Add/Delete Patient-Diagnosis - Incomplete
Add/Change Compliance - Incomplete
Print Turnaround Document – 1 - Partially Complete
Report Patients Not In Compliance - Incomplete
These were the deliverables set in the original project plan.
In the revised project plan:
200 hours worth of work remain
Remaining tasks require 34 more hours than the original plan
The group’s level of confidence in completing the project is high
7. Lessons Learned
Secure and transfer backups of database and files before starting
work.
Documenting and tracking information as pieces were edited and
take constant “screenshots” of our work.
Learned how to install SQL Server 2008 R2.
Learned the harsh truth about server crashes.
9. Process Challenges
Due to the limited time left, work ethic among all of us will need
to improve to tackle the remainder of the project.
Web application interface is the largest of the remaining tasks and
will need to be our primary focus.
Need tight scheduling to work around the lack of multiple
concurrent logons.
