II. Objectives:
1. Recall the schoolโ€™s philosophy, vision-mission and core values
2. Memorize Arellano Hymn
3. Give personal insights of the schoolโ€™s Philosophy,Vision and Mission, & Core values
in their school life
III. Activities:
1. Prayer, Checking of attendance
2. Discuss the Philosophy, Mission and Vision and the Core Values of the School
3. Have a sharing of their personal insights on what they have learned about the schoolโ€™s
philosophy, vision-mission, and the core values. Elicit responses as to how can they
demonstrate these in their daily lives.
Philosophy
As an institution of learning, Arellano University is guided in all its endeavors by an
incessant search of knowledge, a passion for truth and respect for academic freedom.
It does not serve any particular creed, dogma and doctrine.
Its primary goal is the development of the youth in a healthy intellectual atmosphere
that welcomes discussion and dialogue to the widest latitude governed only by the rights
and best interests of the students and the University.
Guided by this philosophical framework, the University pursues the following objectives:
1. To promote in the faculty and students critical thinking and scientific problem-solving
through the use of reason, truth and knowledge.
2. To provide opportunities for freedom of inquiry and honest research in the field of
learning.
3. To assist in the transformation of the youth into productive, progressive and actively
involved citizens of the nation.

INTRODCUTION TO WORLD RELIGIONS AND BELIEF SYSTEMS
SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: The course explores the main tenets and practices of major world
religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Theravada Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism,
Confucianism, Taoism and Shintoism. It aims to help learners understand the historical contexts of
nine religions, appreciate their uniqueness and similarities and promote mutual understanding among
believers of different faiths. They are expected to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of
oneโ€™s faith and that of others
