III. CAPABILITY IS FORMED BY THE INTEGRATION OF RESOURCES Table I shows that
competitive advantage is gained by the strategic deployment of some resources, capabilities, and/or
competencies. Literature review suggests that concepts such as resources, capabilities,
competencies, and core competencies are not clearly defined. We have found that only the
resource itself is defined with a wide range of meanings. On one hand, resources are defined as
anything which could be thought of as a strength or weakness of a firm [9]. This anything may
include physical resources (e.g., raw materials, equipment, financial endowment, etc.), human
resources (e.g., training, experience, skills, etc.), as well as organizational resources (e.g., firm
image, process, routines, etc.) [4], [14]. Note that with this definition, capabilities are considered as
part of resource. On the other hand, capabilities are not part of resource because of their dynamic
doing nature. Many authors argue that capabilities are the result of resource deployment and
organizational processes. Capabilities use resources and, therefore, are more dynamic and complex
entity and should be treated independent to resources [15]. We feel more comfortable with Grant

The teachings about origins behind Mimes were very beneficial to me. It was such a refresher
to read about the vision that Larnell Harris had about a person with a white face and white
gloves, using creative moves to flow with a gospel song, simply an amazing vision that has
came to past. Now we have mime ministries all over the country. As I did more research about the
history of mimes I also learned that this art form was not always used for its good. The Greeks

The Arctic Tern The Arctic tern is a seabird that belongs to the tern family, Sternidae. The species
spends the northern summers in the colder regions of Eurasia and North America. It migrates to the

It s all about survival. When the Arctic tern enters the southern hemisphere, summer starts over
and temperatures stay mild and within the tern s range of tolerance. Most Arctic terns spend the
first month of their migration in the north Atlantic ocean eating and collecting energy for the
long trip ahead. Some migrations have been over 44,000 miles long round trip, with the birds
rarely stopping for rest and food. The specific reason these animals migrate so far is widely
unknown, although it is assumed for survival or breeding purposes. Some scientists suggest that

Let me mention five. First, Buddhism is a religion which stresses the need for salvation. According
to Gautama s four fold truth, every man suffers because of his insatiable desires. Men find

Secondly, according to Buddha, liberation or enlightenment can only be achieved as a result of self
discipline and self denial. There is no easy way out of the human predicament. An individual must
curb his sensuous desires and master his body. Gradually but vigorously he must extinguish the
craving for physical pleasures. To accomplish this, Buddhists have to practice strenuous moral and
intellectual disciplines.
Thirdly, Mahayana Buddhism reinforces the stem ethic of Gautama s teachings with a vivid
eschatology. Those who live morally here on earth will be rewarded by the bliss of the Pure Land
Paradise. But those who violate the moral commandments will be punished in hell until they have
paid for their folly. At least in popular Buddhism (that taught to the laity), the promise of heavenly
reward and the threat of hell s torments have been an important stimulus to ethical behavior.
Fourthly, Mahayana Buddhism emphasizes the supreme value of self sacrifice. The highest ideal is
to be a Bodhisattva. A Bodhisattva is one who has earned the right to enjoy the

After two years, at Purdue University, he was called into active duty and flew 78 missions (
Neil Armstrong ). He had learned how to fly a plane by the age of 14 which had prepared for

that development is a lifelong process. His theory contains eight stages of development that

and clear enough to emphasize the idea of the following paragraph. The way Gladwell describes
Paco Underhill and his expression of Paco is objective. Although Gladwell says It isn t a hostile

article (102). He keeps his tone throughout the article neutral, neither positive nor negative. This

Baumeister claims that these fantasies can range from wanting to be blindfolded during intercourse
to wanting to be bound and gagged or handcuffed.
Pain, being something that most humans would try to get away from at all costs is something that
is sought out and even craved by the masochist. The pain fantasy seems to be the one that has the
widest range of practices. According to Baumeister, some people enjoy an old fashioned, bare
bottomed, over the knee spanking, (Psychology Today 47) where others would prefer having hot
candle wax dripped on them. Still others enjoy needles and being whipped.
The third masochistic practice that Baumeister addresses is humiliation. Some of the practices

In this essay I believe that Baumeister did a very good job with informing the audience in a
descriptive way what exactly masochism is, but I do also feel that there is at least one point that
he did not address as well as a few that he could have elaborated on better.

But if you were to ask a group of people what they believe a hero is, most might say the same

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Novel
The use of irony in the novel also contributes to its postmodernism. Many postmodernists treat
serious subjects jovially to distance themselves from the difficult subject. They evoke black
humor and different types of irony to offer critics of society and to display how society should not
fear dark and somber things. DeLillo sprinkles irony all throughout his story using it even at the
most serious of times. He uses it to show how the characters should not feardeath and how the
characters ignore danger when the smoke alarm went off in the hallway upstairs, either to let us
know the battery had just died or because the house was on fire (8) and they did nothing about
the possible imminent danger. DeLillo also uses irony to mock certain characters and expose
the ridiculousness of certain beliefs and customs. When Jack s boss advises him to change his
name and appearance to gain more prestige, the change they make is pretentious as it is the same
name only without one letter, we finally agreed that I should event an extra initial and call
myself J.A.K Gladney (16). DeLillo continues to ridicule society and its principles by exposing

Dr. Seuss Instruments
The synopsis of the process of the Dr. Seuss theme instrument. The design of our project was
based upon the instruments seen in the Dr. Seuss novels. The instrument is multi colored and
similar to the color scheme found on the cover of the book, Oh, the Places You ll Go. The shape
and unique structure are also attributed to many distinctive instruments found in Dr. Seuss
stories. We decided to have two mouthpieces available, so two people can play the instrument at
the same time and the overall structure characterizes the disproportionate instruments seen in
the books. Going with the theme, the sound created is also very interesting. When assembling
the instrument, we had stuck wax paper between the parts of the pipe, creating a kazoo like
sound. We had chosen to use PVC pipes in order to lock in the sound, leaving no air to escape,
and funnels in order to amplify the sound being given off. Before our final design, there had
happened to be another idea we were going for. The design had included a chamber that would
contain soft air gun pellets or bb gun pellets that were capped off by 3D printed discs, covering

I was the oldest in the group and the upper classmen. I had the original idea for the project and
everyone contributed to making the original idea come to life. Everyone had an input on creating
the Dr. Seuss inspired instrument. Their suggestions were even better than my original blue print.

Do you ever have a dream where you re falling, and it feels so real that your body wakes you up?
Well this was not a dream. I was falling, and there was no bed for me to wake up in.
Growing up I was always around horses. My mom got into horses as a teenager, and they never
left her heart. The minute I was born I was put up in the saddle. Where most families would bond
by going swimming, hiking, or to watch a movie, my family bonded by going horseback riding.
(Or as we call it, trail riding.) The first horse I remember riding was a beautiful mare (girl horse)
named Angel. She was a sweet old white quarter horse who took care of everyone who rode her.
I went on many trail rides with her and when she passed away I learned at the early age of six
that people s deaths aren t the only deaths we morn. Eventually I moved on and started riding a
new horse whose name was Tanka.
Tanka was a stubborn and sassy sorrel mare. I really didn t ride her on my own because she
probably would ve taken advantage of me being a beginner. Since I couldn t ride her on my own
my sister Lisa usually rode along on Tanka while I sat behind the saddle, holding on to the edge of
it for dear life. One cloudy mid September day my mom decided we should go on a trail ride. Since
we didn t have enough horses for everyone who wanted to come on the ride, my mom came up
with a plan.

The game play starts out with everyone slowly buying properties and collecting full property
sets that you must have to be able to build your houses and hotels on. This process can be made
especially longer when house rules are added. House rules are unofficial game rules that many
people add when playing the game. Some house rules can include the rule of not being able to
buy any properties until you have taken a full turn around the board and depending on how high
you roll, this can be very time consuming. Another downside of the game is how players can be
easily eliminated early in the game. If an unexperienced Monopoly player begins the game by
buying everything they land on and spending their money without strategizing properly, they will
easily go bankrupt and be left to watch the other players for a few hours until the game is over.
Lastly, another weakness that the Monopoly board game has is how your success in the game is
highly based on luck. After all the initial buying, trading, and building, it is left up to how lucky
you are to have people land on your properties. At this point in the game, it is just a matter of a few
unlucky rolls until people start going

The story The Hanging is very depressing because of the tone of the story. It is also because of
the way the narrator describes everything around him and the actions of the other characters.

is still human. This man is not dying, he is alive just as we were alive . This is what really

Athletics and Persons with Disabilities It wasn t that long ago when the words athletics and
persons with disabilities did not belong together. If a person was born with a physical or
intellectual disability, sports fell into the group of activities that were excluded from their life. If
an athlete acquired a physical or intellectual disability, sports became an activity they could no
longer participate in. Sports and athletic pursuits belonged solely to non disabled persons.
Persons with disabilities could only watch from the sidelines. Our society did not encourage or
support any physical sports programs that allowed persons with disabilities to pursue their athletic
dreams. Slowly, a cultural shift has altered our perception of what is possible for persons with
disabilities. Part of this shift can be attributed to the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960 s. Once
the Civil Rights Act was signed into law, the walls of discrimination and segregation began to
crumble. Although the Civil Rights Act initially sought to ensure equality for African Americans
and other people of color, it eventually expanded to protect other vulnerable classes in our society.1
A piece of legislation that has contributed greatly to the rights of those with disabilities is the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. This legislation is considered as far reaching and

Analysis Of The Garden Of Earthly Delights
Art is all around us and whether we notice it or not we are always evaluating, deconstructing, and
deciding on if we like it or not. The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch is a triptych
done in the Renaissance period. A triptych is a painting or relief carving that has three different
panels and are hinged together side by side. I first came across this paintingin my art history class
in high school and from then on I loved it due to all the imagery, colors, and the overall meaning
that it had. Ever since then this artwork has left a big imprint and got me to think about art as
much more than a picture, but to look at it as a whole and analyze it. This painting always
seemed interesting and intriguing for a couple of reasons. There are many themes going on, the
colors are very monochrome but yet look vivid and life like, and it has a very deep meaning
with the themes of mortality, sin, and shows the end results for evil doings. The triptych has
three different panels and all three have their own story to tell. When the triptych is closed and
both left and right sections are shut you see the world in tones of gray or neutral colors. At the
uppermost left corner of the closed sections you can see a depiction of God looking down at the
world with an open book in his hands. The first one on the left tells the story of how God
