This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and

1.This is to announce the historical celebration of the 120th Founding Anniversary

the Schools Division of Tarlac Province with the theme: DepEd Tarlac Province

2.The historic celebration is a month-long activity involving select learners,
teachers, school heads, supervisors and division personnel. This will start on
October 3, 2022, until its’ culmination on October 27, 2022, which will be held in
various venues as per attached approved schedule of activities.

first learners, first graduates, first learners with honors, first teachers, first school heads,
successful graduates, evolution of school uniforms, first wins, and all other school
accomplishments and milestones. A separate room can be used as school museum for the
exhibit. If no room is available, it can be in the pathways, hallways and other conspicuous places
where learners, teachers and stakeholders can view and learn their history. This activity will be

Department Heads and AP District Specialists. The produced historical materials must be

15. GUIDELINES: DIVISION CONTEST
HISTO-QUIZ
1. The division Histo-Quiz is open to Grade 6
pupils (1 per district) and Grade 7 students (1 per
school) and shall be assisted by an Official Coach
(only) supported by a travel order duly signed by
the school head/district supervisor.

16. 2. Contest questions preparation / development shall be the
sole responsibility of the DepEd Tarlac Province EPSvr in Social
Studies. The content of questions shall be based on the
Historical Accounts of the Division from 1902 to 2022:
a. Legal bases or policies in the establishment of the division
b. American and Filipino teachers, principals, superintendents
c. Sites or homes of the division office through the years
d. Graduates who became prominent in the field of education
e. Current DepEd policies and curriculum

17. 3. Rules and Mechanics
3.1 Contestants shall bring their own writing sheets (20 pieces 1/2 length wise of
a long bond paper) during the contest. The monitor shall collect the answer
sheets arranged accordingly. Said answer sheets shall be submitted to the board
of judges for their decision.
3.2 English and Filipino shall be used as the official languages in the conduct
of the quiz.
3.3 There shall be a total of twenty (20) questions to be given, 6 of which
are “easy questions”, 7 are “average”, and 7 are “difficult”.
3.4 Points for every correct answer shall be given as follows;
- one (1) point - for an “easy” question
- two (2) points - for an “average question
- three (3) points -for a “difficult” question

18. 3.5 The quizmaster shall read each question twice. Countdown shall
start after the question
has been read the second time.
3.6 Contestant shall be given a maximum of thirty (30) seconds to
answer difficult questions, 20 seconds for average and 10 seconds for
easy questions.
3.7 Should a contestant wish to change an answer that he/she has
written down, this answer should be crossed out with one horizontal
line and the new answer written clearly above the crossed-out
answer. A contestant is allowed to change his/her answer within the
time allotted for a particular question.

19. 3.8 A division champion, 1st placer, 2nd placer, 3rd placer, 4th placer and 5th placer
shall be proclaimed based on a cumulative scoring system and will be awarded a
certificate of recognition and medals during the Kick-Off and Awarding
Ceremonies on October 24, 2022 at the Maria Cristina Galang Park, Tarlac City.
3.9 All ties shall be broken by a tie breaker questions from the difficult category.
3.10 The following procedure shall be observed in case of a protest or inquiry
during the actual quiz proceedings.
3.10.1 Only the official coach of the contestant is allowed to raise a protest or
inquiry at the earliest appropriate time during the contest.
3.10.2 The protest or inquiry shall be addressed orally to the chairman of the
Board of Judges who shall recognize the protest or inquiry.
3.10.3 The chairman of the Board of Judges shall announce decisions resulting
from the protest or inquiry at the earliest appropriate time during the contest.

20. 4. The Board of Judges shall be composed of three experts from
the Department of Education. A chairperson shall be selected from
among the members of the Board . The decision of the Board of
Judges shall be final.
5. School Heads are required to submit the names of their official
contestant and official coach to their district supervisors. The district
supervisors will submit these names to the EPSvr in charge on or
before October 17, 2022, using attached enclosure. Said document
shall be the basis for the preparation of certificates and registration
reference.
