The UK government is transitioning to new digital frameworks for procuring IT services called G-Cloud and the Digital Services Framework. G-Cloud provides cloud-based services through 1,518 suppliers while the Digital Services Framework focuses on agile development through 175 suppliers. The Digital Marketplace will replace these frameworks by the end of 2014 to become a single platform for both buyers and sellers of digital services and technology. The Digital Marketplace aims to make it easier to find and compare services by standardizing suppliers' descriptions of features, benefits and marketing materials.

•Based on the approach detailed in the Government Digital Service Design
Manual and complies with the Digital by Default Standard

8. Where Next?
The Digital Marketplace will replace Cloudstore.
•Currently in Beta phase of development
•Will replace the current routes (first CloudStore and then
Digital Services Framework)
The aim is to switch off CloudStore by the end of September
2014

accessing frameworks for buying and selling digital services
and technology, creating a transparent and competitive
marketplace.

9. Finding and comparing Services
The Digital Marketplace will help suppliers describe their
products and services to make it easier for buyers to find and
compare services;
Suppliers will be asked to provide;-
•A short description of their service
•A list of features
•A list of benefits
•A supplier page where marketing material – currently
embedded in service descriptions – can be more usefully
housed.

10. •Think less about being at the top of the list and more
about being the last one left after the elimination
round.
•When writing your description, keep asking yourself
“what requirements does my service meet?”
