This document summarizes a presentation given by Markus Gylling from the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) and Ivan Herman from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) about increasing cooperation between the two organizations. The IDPF and W3C are working to ensure digital publishing requirements are considered in the evolution of the Open Web Platform. This includes establishing a Digital Publishing Activity at the W3C to focus on areas important for publishing like styling and layout, domain-specific content, accessibility, and internationalization. The goal is to better align existing EPUB formats with web technologies through joint events and technical discussions.
