Digital media usage has grown significantly over time. What began as early internet development in the 1950s did not truly impact culture until the 1990s with the emergence of email and the World Wide Web. Today, the internet is driven by vast amounts of online information, commerce, entertainment, and social networking. Younger generations now view alternatives to constant digital connectivity as antiquated. However, some question if this demand for unlimited access is hindering our ability to explore outside our digital comfort zones.
