2.  Primary cerebral tumors are extremely rare in horses.
 Occasional ependymomas, choroid plexus tumors, and meningiomas have
been described.
 Metastasizing tumors include malignant melanomas and
hemangiosarcomas.
 Tumors within the epidural space of the spinal cord may be schwannomas,
lymphomas, hemangiomas, hemangiosarcomas, or plasma cell tumors with
a compressing effect on the overriding spinal cord.

Space. The focal
space-occupying tan
mass was diagnosed
as a schwannoma.
 Differential
diagnosis:
lymphoma,
paraganglioma,plam
acytoma.

4.  Horse. Cervical
Cord.Hemorrhage
from lymphoma.

5.  Horse. Medulla
Oblongata.
 A malignant
melanoma has
invaded the medulla
oblongata.

6.  Horse.
Brain.Cholesteatma. A
granular mass is
present in the lateral
ventricles on sagittal
section.

7.  Horse. Epidural
Synovial Cyst. A
gelatinous gray
folded tissue
compresses the
spinal cord
