termed as Ritucharya. 
 While changing seasons of nature, 
there will be corresponding effects on 
the Bhutas and thereby the doshas of 
the body (Vata, Pitta and Kapha).

 To avoid vitiation of doshas and 
imbalance as well, Ayurveda suggest 
a seasonal routine of particular diet 
and life style (Aahara and Vihara). 
 All this help in keeping dosha in

WINTER SEASON (HEMANT RITU) 
 The winter season is marked as 
hemanta ritu in Ayurveda. 
 Hemanta ritu starts from mid-November 
and ends in mid-January. 
 This falls in southern solstice which is 
called as Visarga Kala or Dakshinayana 
in Ayurveda.

Diet and Lifestyle during winter season as per Ayurveda

  • 2. OVERVIEW -  Prakriti, denotes both, body constitution and nature of the person.  Changes in season brings changes in our lives.  Every season has its own characteristics that influences the habits and life style of every person. WWW.PLANETAYURVEDA.COM
  • 3. CONT…  In Ayurveda changes of season are termed as Ritucharya.  While changing seasons of nature, there will be corresponding effects on the Bhutas and thereby the doshas of the body (Vata, Pitta and Kapha). WWW.PLANETAYURVEDA.COM
