• Bharti Foundation
– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.
– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality
education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.
– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country
realize their potential.
• Satya Bharti School Program
– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.
– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus
on the girl child across rural India.
– Present Operational Status:
• Number of Schools Operational: 254
• States of Operation: West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar
Pradesh & Tamil Nadu
• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 38,000
3. About the Community
• Geographical Location: Balyakala, a village , majority of
population is of Gurjar community coming under OBC
category. Centrally located in the Kant gram panchyat on
road on the Jaipur – Delhi highway.
• Cultural Background: . Males wear dhoti,kurta & pagadi
and females wear lahnga, choli& chunri ,their food is bajara

• Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village: Our school is
supported and an example of real model of public-private-
partnership. In spite of several private schools the parents
wants to admit their children in our schools and supporting
us. Satya Bharti School is not only proved to be the school
but a movement to change whole locality with respect to
many social evils prior existing in the village but through our
regular efforts, transformation is happening.
4. We ‘Felt’:
From where the idea came
• Students want that their elders also Learn
and Speak English.
• When they go back to home and speak
some sentence in English their parents
could not understand.
• They want to provide opportunity to their
community.
5. We ‘Imagined’:
• In present time we need to learn English.
• Aware the youth to speak in English.
• To make environment of English.
• Parents should be able to understand English
words and also identify the same.

6. We ‘Did’:
ACTIVITY
•Went in community to aware
them for I.R.I.
•Students were giving answers
asking by community member.
•They were telling them the
importance of English in present
time.
•Use of laptop by students to
operate programme.
7. Impact on Community:
-Community realizes the importance of
language for their children to get them
educated
- youth are getting some level of confidence
as most are drop out, but the are insuring to
use of English language for the promotion
within their community.
- They are also planning to establish a local
library for the promotion of english.
8. Impact on Us:
• Students are now more motivated now.
• Encouraged to take initiatives.
• Can plan and implement.
• Enhanced leadership and team spirit among the
students.
• Ignited the feeling of ownership among the students
• Teachers were feel more empowered in the process
of execution and implementation and wined the more
faith of the people.
• Teachers got appreciation and positive responses
from the community, which added jewel to their
rapport and identification as a social activist for a
social change.
9. Experience of Community Members & Teachers:
Youth leader Mr bansi dhar Gujar was surprise after
seen the initiative fro m children for educating their
community.
Mr. Ramphool gurjar parent of the child says that my
child is quite confident for this and he is also among
those who has taken the initiative for the community.
Mr Jagdish Prasad Gujar, president SMC, happy for the
initiative taken by childrens an he assure followup for
the same in near future.
10. The Road Ahead…..(in the next 3 months)
Establishing the local library at village level.
Providing the english newspaper within the
library.
Children’s will help the community members
to learn and speak in the PTM’s as demo
for further progress.
IRI materials will also be used by the children
for makig the community learn the
language
