Developing Self-Confidence Presented by... Quelynn, Inc. "Catapulting women to their wealthy place..."
What is self-confidence? Confidence: 1) full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing, 2) belief in oneself and one's powers or abilities; self-confidence; self-reliance; assurance. Self-trust Self-belief Self-reliability Self-assurance
Why is self-confidence important? It's important in any transformation that takes place in your life that you have confidence in yourself. It is also important because if you don't have confidence in yourself, you can't expect others to have confidence in you. “ Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertaking.” – Samuel Johnson
The basis of self-confidence: “ For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” ~Philippians 2:13 “ I can do all things through Christ   who strengthens me.” ~Philippians 4:13 “ Fear not, for I am with you ; Be not dismayed, for I am your God . I will strengthen you , Yes, I will help you , I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” ~Isaiah 41:10
Nine ways to grow in self-confidence: 1. Ask God to help build your confidence.  2. Stop comparing yourself, gifts, and talents to others. 3. Hone in on what you have to offer.  4. Discover and begin operating in your WHY.  5. Believe in yourself.  6. Begin doing it! 7. Surround yourself with other confident people. 8. Renew your mind in self-confidence.  9.  Start an accomplishment journal.
Ask God to help build your confidence. Everything begins with God. He's our Creator and the one who builds us up from the inside out. It is only in Him and through Him that you will have the ability to possess the confidence you’ll need to do anything you set your heart and mind to.
Stop comparing yourself, gifts, and talents to others. You're not made to be anyone but YOU! God made you a one of a kind original creation. No one has your natural or spiritual DNA. So, stop comparing yourself to others. You are perfectly YOU! YOU’nique! If you try to be someone else, you will fail. However, when you are yourself you’ll always succeed. You can only perfect YOU, no one else.
Hone in on what you have to offer. Discover and focus on your gifts and talents. Study them. Polish and perfect them. Practice them. The world is waiting for you to give them YOU!
Discover and begin operating in your WHY.  Why are you here? Why do you do what you do? Why do you want certain things in life?  Note: In doing what you love you will experience great joy. In joy, you can/will find your confidence.
Believe in yourself. You must believe in yourself and in what you have to offer this world. Remember, you are capable of being, doing, having and becoming whoever God wants to to be, do, have and become!  “ Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”  – Norman Vincent Peale
Begin doing it! To gain confidence in any one thing in life, simply begin operating in it. The more you do it, the more you'll learn and the more you'll grow.  "Just do it."  -Nike
Surround yourself with other confident people. It's true your friends influence your life either for good or for bad. To build your confidence you must have confident friends. “In life, you will either walk with pigeons, fly with birds or soar with eagles.” Find some eagles and begin to soar with them!
Renew your mind in self-confidence. Stop listening to and watching media resources that puts you down makes you doubt yourself. This includes music, television programs, audio books, etc. Build your confidence by pouring in uplifting audio and video stimuli.
Start an accomplishment journal. List your accomplishments in a journal and also write how it made you feel when you accomplished that task or goal. Remember, David recounted his previous victories over the lion and the bear before defeating Goliath.  1 Samuel 17:34-37
