Most sexual behavior problems must be delineated within the context of the individual's personality, lifestyle, and relationships with others. It is usually simplistic to label any particular behavior automatically as a problem. Several criteria are given that can be used to define sexual problems and that can help put problematic sex into a more realistic and sensible perspective. Determining when a sexual preference behavior becomes a problem is highly subjective and requires a look into different aspects of an individual's life, including his or her lifestyle and cultural and social belief systems. Sexual abuse, coercion, and assault of others represent serious sexual problems (Kelly, 2015).
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and a variety of other medical conditions can affect the sex organs and sexual activity. Whereas STDs once were discussed only briefly in most human sexuality courses, they are emerging as important issues again. Considering that the incidence of several diseases is on the rise, and that more organisms are being recognized as being capable of sexual transmission, such a trend may be timely. One of the most significant findings of the National Health and Social Life Survey (NHSLS) was the direct correlation between the numbers of sexual partners people have had and the likelihood that they will have had a STD (National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, 1992).
Defining sexual dysfunctions is somewhat subjective, and individual differences in the sexual response cycle are often perfectly normal. Rather than simply labeling each dysfunction and explaining it separately, we must examine it based on the broader picture of sexual responsiveness and the total sexual relationship. In recent years, there has been greater emphasis on potential organic conditions that can manifest themselves in sexual difficulties, including the effects of alcohol, other drugs, and certain medication ...

Sexual behaviors are influenced by factors such as age, race, religious beliefs, and educational background. Solitary sex includes thoughts and fantasies, erotic materials and toys, and masturbation. Solitary sex does not seem to be compensation for lack of availability of a sexual partner. The frequency with which people experience private sexual pleasure seems to be positively correlated with how frequently they seek shared sex.

Individuals should be aware of the difficulties of finding appropriate nonjudgmental labels for all types of sexual behaviors. A distinction is made among aspects of sexual performance and the more subjective factors of sexual desire, sensuosity, and sensuality. These concepts are particularly useful as you explore the different dimensions of human sexuality.
Human sexuality has found its way into the culture and laws of every society. The balance of personal sexual freedom with the public need to regulate social behavior is a topic to consider. How far should sexual freedom for adults be carried? To what extent should legal systems regulate sexual behaviors? What limits should be imposed on the availability of sexually explicit materials?
Attempts have been made at distinguishing between pornography and erotica, although the final distinction clearly lies in the eye of the beholder. Sexologists are increasingly using the term "sexually explicit materials" as a general descriptor. Graphic depictions of human nudity and sexual behavior have been a part of every soc ...

For my final project I am choosing the environmental influences on.docxrhetttrevannion
For my final project I am choosing the environmental influences on personality particularly about childhood experiences and their effect on an individual’s personalities. I am contrasting childhood experiences that are caused by their environment to the effect on their personality, I will use the correlation research method. A questionnaire will be used in order to obtain the information I would need. This method would admit me to have a larger sample base, have a better image of the relationship, and numerous variables providing for better research circumstances down the road. The disadvantage to this technique would be, I would not have a personal relationship from those apart of the study and this could cause a lack of dishonesty. Second, establishing a questionnaire that was both dependable and accurate could be an issue. Lastly, I would only get a view at what those in the group went through.
Ethically, I would run into a problem of confidentiality and making sure all of the questionnaires were kept secret and those taking them were offered secrecy. Anyone who take part in the activity would be able to eliminate themselves from the research if they wanted to and if they left the documents it would be destroyed. I would maintain their best interest and would be real and honest with them regarding what the study is being used for and why it was being done. Still, because there isn’t a personal relationship but just general on this could be difficult to prove and cause doubt and that could be an ethical crisis.

The United Nations Children ’s Fund (UNICEF) published a global child abuse research report on the 4th, pointing out that about 10% of girls under the age of 20 have been sexually assaulted or other compulsive sexual behaviors; more than half of children between the ages of 2-14 are often suffered Parents or guardians beaten; and about 20% of the murder victims worldwide are teenagers and children under 20 years old.
The vast majority of violent incidents come from people who interact daily with children, such as family members, peers, and partners. On the whole, the proportion of wars that harm children is not large; but in the context of armed conflicts and other humanitarian crises, domestic violence suffered by women and children will grow significantly.
Sexual violence is a serious public health problem, which can have a long or short profound impact on physical and mental health. For example, it may affect the ability to reproduce and increase fertility, increase the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, and may lead to suicide or self-mutilation. And other behaviors. During or after sexual violence, the victim's killing due to honorary murder is also part of sexual violence. Although women are the main victims of sexual violence, people of any age and gender may be harmed by sexual violence.)
Based on the 4+ academic articles identified in the "Literature Review" assignment, students will write an annotated bibliography that provides an outline of each article. An annotated bibliography provides a summary of an academic paper and relates the paper to one's own research topic.
For this assignment, you will write an annotated bibliography for
each
article you found during your literature search assignment. If any of those articles were
not
academic (i.e. published in an peer-reviewed scientific journal), you must find a replacement article that is academic.
Guidelines
Your annotated bibliography should include the following:
An introduction paragraph that tells your reader (a) your topic and focus of your research and (b) the general context of your topic.
Each annotation should include:
A full citation of the paper in APA style
Three paragraphs that summarizes, analyzes, and applies the source
The first paragraph
summarizes
the source by...
providing context of the source
outlining the thesis (main point) of the source
indicating the main finding of the paper
The second paragraph
analyzes
the source by explaining the benefits and limitations of the research
The third paragraph
applies
the source by explaining how the source's ideas, research, and information can be applied to your topic of study

CJUS 750Developing Research Questions Instructions
This paper requires you to create research questions based upon the literature review and annotated bibliography research.
1. Think about your current understanding (working theory) of a research issue of interest to you in the criminal justice field (here again is where the previous Literature Review and Annotated Bibliography assignments will help you). What important concepts are part of this research interest and how do they relate? Begin a search of the relevant literature.
2. Develop three to five research questions that help to focus your topic. List possible aspects of the conceptual context that would guide a literature review if you were to do one.
3. Create a research statement (if you have not done so already) and create five to ten open-ended interview questions for your own research project. Pilot the questions with a classmate, asking her or him to pretend that she or he is one of your participants. Work together to reshape the questions. Then pilot the questions with someone who has had experiences similar to your research population or ask the questions of a research participant who is willing to collaborate with you on developing your questions. Reshape the questions again after reflecting upon what worked, what did not, and what new questions arose.
4. Be sure to write down the answers to those questions (you will need them for another upcoming assignment).
Assignment Specifics:
· Develop 3–5 research questions
· Develop 5–10 open-ended interview questions
· Citations from any of the required reading/presentations from the assigned module/week
· APA format
Submit this assignment by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of Module/Week 3.

This article forms the basis of the discussion by explaining the correlation between quantitative research and criminology whereby the relationship favor’s the criminology concept and process since it is inquisitive by nature. The main variables that are used to support the hypothesis are the number of dissertations presented with a different style of research applied to them. The qualitative research forms the largest contribution to the research process by collecting a variety of related information across the research topic. The two main modes of measurement being tested are the qualitative and quantitative methods which are usually the two major measurement scales used in research. The notion is supported by this mode of research because different disciplines normally apply different approaches to quantitative inquiry.

Case Study 4: Sexual Deviance
Due Week 8 and worth 160 points
According to the text, heterosexual norms represent the guidelines for determining sexual deviance. For this case study, use the Internet and/or the Strayer library (https://research.strayer.edu) to identify, research, and explore one criminal case of heterosexual deviance within the last three years.
Write a 3-5-page paper in which you address the following thoroughly. Cite specifics from the case to support your arguments:
1. Specify the key turning points when the defendant began his/her descent into deviant behavior. Next, determine whether or not you believe “sexual deviant” is an accurate label for the defendant. Support your position.
2. Debate whether or not the societal status of the defendant affected the identification of sexual deviance in the defendant. Justify your response.
3. Analyze the significance of two characteristics of sexual deviance that are applicable to the defendant. Next, based on the characteristics you deemed applicable to the defendant, speculate whether or not there was a point that medical intervention could have helped him/her overcome or better control his/her sexual deviance. Provide a rationale to support your response.
4. Suggest two rationales for society’s changing attitudes towards what is deemed acceptable sexual behavior. Next, predict two possible outcomes of the changing attitudes towards sexual behavior and its resulting influence on crime in the United States. Justify your response.
5. Use at least three quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar types of websites do not qualify as academic resources.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
· Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references should follow the Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
Discussion 1 Alternative Model of Personality Disorders.docxtheresiarede
Discussion 1: Alternative Model of Personality Disorders
The DSM-5 contributors did not make any changes to the DSM-IV criteria for the personality disorders (pp. 645-684). However, the contributors added an entirely new, alternative model for personality disorders (pp. 761-781) that the APA plans to transition towards.
For this Discussion
, read the case study “
Working with Clients with Dual Diagnosis (attached): The Case of Cathy
” and review Cathy’s DSM-IV diagnosis.
Post
an update of Cathy’s diagnosis into DSM-5 and ICD-10-CM. Then analyze how the addition of the alternative model for personality disorders affects Cathy’s DSM-5 diagnosis. What behaviors and/or symptoms may be a personality trait for her, versus criteria for a required diagnosis? How might the “
Other Conditions That May Be a Focus of Clinical Attention

In the scenario assignments, you are asked to reflect on responses to the presented scenario. It should not just be writing down your first reaction or what you already know.
Reflection involves critical thinking, which means rethinking your existing knowledge and previously held opinions in light of what we have learned about theories of ethics, logic, and reasoning. You will need to question your current knowledge and beliefs.
Discuss the main points of the debate, what stance you take, support that stance, and discuss the opposing argument. Also discuss an ethical theory that would apply to defend your view.
To complete each scenario assignment:
1. Complete the entire scenario.
2. Compose your reflection in a Word document and be sure to address, at a minimum, the following questions:
· Why do you feel the way you do about the issue presented?
· Of the four responses offered in the scenario, which do you think is the most ethical and why?
3. Support your conclusions with evidence and specific examples from the textbook, including a minimum of one theory of ethics to defend your stance.
4. Your reflection must be 1-2 pages in length and follow APA formatting and citation guidelines as appropriate, making sure to cite at least two sources.
5. Review the rubric for specific grading criteria.

Assessment Instructions
For this assessment, identify a topic focused on one aspect of a behavior. Then research and write a paper that describes the current understanding of motivation related to the behavior you identified and discusses applications of research to social policies associated with that behavior.
Assessment Preparation
Select one of the following three broad areas of behavior:
Eating behaviors.
Intimacy behaviors.
Drug use and addiction behaviors.
Then identify a research topic associated with behavioral area you selected. An important skill in conducting research is to narrow the focus of your topic to keep the content manageable and to facilitate finding supportive evidence. To identify a properly narrow topic:
Begin with your selected behavior and start to narrow the focus. See examples of topics listed below. You may use one of the examples or identify your own.
Continue to narrow the focus of your topic with consideration for other relevant factors, such as age of the research subjects (adults versus children), their gender, their educational level, or other demographic or topical factors. Your goal is to identify a research topic that is appropriately narrow and can b.
English 2010 Intermediate Writing Persuasive Research Paper.docxSALU18
English 2010: Intermediate Writing
Persuasive Research Paper 100 points
Assignment description and rationale: In most of your college writing assignments, you will try to
persuade different audiences, including professors and classmates, that you understand a subject or that
your position on an issue is logical. As you prepare to graduate from college, you will write to persuade
specific audiences, including graduate studies administrators and prospective employers, that your
research interests are worthwhile or that you are qualified to work in your field. Because persuading a
target audience is a common purpose in college writing, the assignments for this course have focused on
helping you plan to write an effective argument.
To complete your research and write your argument, this assignment requires you to support the
persuasive claim in a 6- to 10- page persuasive research paper. You will also use ethos, pathos, and logos
to appeal to a target audience and follow MLA documentation guidelines to format your persuasive
research paper.
Assignment Requirements: Use the following guidelines to write and format your persuasive research
paper.
1. Support your persuasive claim with at least five reliable research sources. Your research
sources can include secondary sources (e.g., books, articles, Web sites, documentaries) or
primary sources (e.g., interviews, surveys). Although I do not specify the number of books, articles,
Web sites, etc. you must use to support your claim, I expect you to cite reliable secondary research
sources from both the Merrill-Cazier Library and the Web in your argument. I encourage but do not
require you to use primary research sources in your persuasive research paper.
Before you start quoting, paraphrasing, or summarizing information from your research sources in
your persuasive research paper, review guidelines for avoiding plagiarism. When I grade your
persuasive research paper, I will expect you to use signal phrases to introduce quotations (e.g.,
“Researchers at Dartmouth College assert. . .”) and to limit your use of long quotations.
2. Use ethos, pathos, and logos to appeal to a target audience.
Because establishing your credibility, creating emotional appeals, and identifying convincing
evidence for a specific audience will make writing your persuasive research paper easier than
trying to accommodate a general audience, you should target a prospective reader(s) you analyzed
in your research proposal.
To determine how to use ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade your target audience, consider
these questions:
a. To establish credibility, how can you describe your investment in your claim, address
alternative views, or mention the reliability of your research sources?
b. To create emotional appeals, how can you use a specific example, an analogy, or a
brief personal narrative?
c. To appeal to your audience’s sense of logic, how can you ma ...

Nematodes are the most plentiful multicellular animals on the planet. They are everywhere; in soil and on decomposing material, from the cold environments to the tropics, in all plant life, in almost all animals, including humans, and also insects (“Information”, 2016).
Nematodes are non- segmented roundworms that possess complete digestive, excretory, nervous and reproductive systems (“Information”, 2016). Most are microscopic. Nematodes can take the energy of living organism and cause serious diseases, even kill humans and animals.

Click to view the Death with Dignity scenario.

One animal organism that I found interesting was the species of multicellular Nematodes.
The diversity of nematode forms and territories are incredible: there are more than 15,000 known species, can you imagine that! They infect everything from bugs to whales to humans. Nematodes can take the energy of living organism and cause serious diseases, even kill humans and animals. There are other nematode parasites in humans that are transmitted by eating meat that is not cooked adequately, or through contact with soil or water contaminated with feces, from humans or animals (Hay, 2016).

How does each firm recognize revenue and how does its revenue recognition policies compare to its competitors? Is there evidence of aggressive revenue recognition? Consider the firm’s operating income and how it has been affected by “above the line” items including research and development expenses, restructuring costs, income taxes and foreign currency translation. Consider “below the line” components to income including discontinued operations and extraordinary items. Dear Eliie2121,
Apparently you have a challenge with your composition skills. You have good ideas but you are having trouble expressing them. I would suggest that you go to the Writing Center and get some assistance. I am not an English instructor but there are so many errors in your writing that it is my feeling that you need this writing assistance. Even in this email to me there are numerous errors of grammar. I am going to write your question over correctly so that you can see the errors. Please look carefully at the punctuation I have added and the changes. So, in answer to your initial question here, you need to write better and be aware of what you are writing (as I pointed out in my post response to you).
So, if I am reading your response to my discussion question, is it not what you wanted me to write or is it that I see things differently on the questions? Please let me know one way or another so that I can make corrections on it.
On your paper there were missing commas, incorrect capitalization, missing words, plurals needed, etc. Hopefully, you can see that some assistance is needed. I am here to assist you and this is the best advice I can give you so that you can be successful in graduate school and in your teaching career.

The United States maintains a complex network of law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal levels. These agencies have varying degrees of specialty and work closely with one another and the courts. Functions performed by the levels of police agencies in the United States run a gamut, from preventing the importation of illegal drugs to ensuring the safety of students at universities. The role of a police agency depends upon its location and jurisdiction. many as 23,000 local and state police agencies exist in the United States as of 2011, depending upon the method of counting them. Types of police agencies under state jurisdiction include local township or city police forces, state police, countrywide sheriff's offices, state highway patrols and constables. The structure and levels of state police agencies differs in each state. Hawaii, for instance, maintains no state police force per Se, but rather a Department of Public Safety. In most states, sheriffs serve as elected officials and act as political liaisons between state governments and police agencies. Various agencies perform specialized police functions at state level. Fish and game wardens, for instance, enforce hunting, fishing, boating laws. According to O'Connor, 35 U.S. states invest independent agencies such as the Department of Criminal Investigations, Department of Motor Vehicles and Alcohol Beverage Control with special, limited powers of law enforcement and investigation. These agencies enforce laws within their jurisdiction, often with the cooperation of other police agencies. Other special divisions of police agencies include K-9 units, which work with police dogs, HAZMAT units, which handle hazardous materials and SWAT, or special tactical units.

Colleague 1: Julia
When working with clients, there are many factors at play that not only formed the client in their early years, but also influence them now. The factors that influence them now can include: family, living situation, job situation, friends, religious community, etc. These factors can all influence how a social worker can assist in intervening in a client’s life. Each of these factors can also be included in different systems that influence the client (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016).
Let us take, for example, the case of Lester. Lester was an independent member in his community, church community, and was able to handle his life all by himself. However, after an automobile accident, Lester has done a 180 and can no longer clothe or clean himself (Plummer, Makris, and Brocksen, 2014). This is where systems perspective comes in: what systems in Lester’s life can the social worker use to assist Lester? From the case study, we know that Lester is close with his family, but his sister-in-law has really stepped up to the plate in helping with Lester’s care. Because of Lester’s connections with his religious community, they may be relied on for resources. Lester’s children have not been involved really at all, so they should not be counted on as a system on which Lester can rely (Plummer, Makris, and Brocksen, 2014). Lester will have to have new systems created for him, as he cannot create them for himself anymore.
As a social worker, it is crucial to know the systems on which a client can rely. System Theory is a good theory because of its ability to be used with any client. Knowing what resources are available to a client, as well as their interactions with those resources, is key in creating a treatment plan for the client.

As individuals enter the stage of late adulthood, their previous experiences, lifestyle and relationships help determine what, indeed, this stage will entail (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). In this week’s case study, 70- year-old Francine sought counseling for symptoms of depression, directly related to the loss of her partner of thirty years, Joan (Plummer, Makris and Brocksen, 2014). Since Francine’s family and loved ones were unaware of the extent of the the relationship between Francine and Joan, Francine did not have the necessary support as she navigated her way through her grieving process. She started drinking alcohol more often, after several years of sobriety (Plummer, et. al., 2014).
It can be assumed that Francine’s relationship with Joan, spanning thirty years, has certainly influenced her aging process. In long-term relationships, such as this one, individuals identify as being half of a partnership, as opposed to their individual beings (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). These defining relationships allow for individuals to feel supported and share experiences throughout their daily lives. This relationship is at the crux of Francine’s being, and although her partner has passed, its value can be utilized to help Francine cope with the loss and navigate through the remainder of her life. Additionally, Francine’s extensive experience within the workforce will also positively contribute to her aging process. Throughout these years, Francine’s interaction with people, both professionally and socially, have helped to promote a healthy inner being. While she may not be feeling sociable after Joan’s passing, referencing her forty year career will be a helpful tool for her clinician.
The case study mapped out the positive aspects in Francine’s life beautifully. Despite the depression she is currently experiencing, employing a Strength Based Perspective, focusing on her resiliency, would be an appropriate and effective method to help Francine achieve her most positive outcomes (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). Francine has shown a tremendous capacity throughout her life in identifying and removing the triggers causing harmful behaviors; this awareness resulted in many years of sobriety (Plummer, et. al., 2014). Furthermore, Francine, despite her current depressive state, ha.

During the time (6 years ago) when Andres was exiting middle adulthood and enter late adulthood, he was transitioning from a period of stability to a period of instability (Plummer, Makris, & Brocksen, 2014). Major changes were ahead that would hit Andres hard. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs can be used to describe Andres past and present emotional and intellectual state. Prior to Andres diagnosis of a brain tumor and Parkinson’s disease, he achieved all of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Andres, physiological, safety, belongingness, self-esteem, and self-actualization needs were met. He was married, had children and grandchildren, had a great career, plenty of friends, and exercised daily. (Plummer et al, 2014). According to Maslow “When people fulfill the most elemental needs, they strive to meet those on the next level, and so forth, until the highest order of needs is reached (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2016, p. 505). Emotionally and intellectually Andres was in a good place. Now, at the age of 68, he has disabilities and has lost most of his independence. He tries to de independent, but has injured himself several times. Activities as basic as eating and bathing unassisted are forever changed. Andres has lost his independence and has become depressed as he realizes more and more that his life is forever altered. “He now uses a cane and walker to ambulate. His speech is slow and soft. He requires assistance to get dressed and eat at times due to severe tremors and the loss of dexterity in his hands”
(Plummer et al, 2014). His safety needs were not being met, especially due to his instability, disabilities, and other medical conditions. This has resulted in a lack of belongingness, low-self-esteem, and no self-actualization. But over time Andres started to accept who he has become. Even though Andres hated asking for help, he realized that asking for assistance could have prevented some of the falls and injuries (Plummer et al, 2014). Andres, accepted the help of the social worker, accepted some help from family, realized that he could not change what has happened to him, and even reclaimed some of the friendships he once had with colleagues.

An explanation of potential challenges in adhering to confidentiality in your field education experience
My field education experience is called “brighter future”. It is an agency that most of the employee are related. And so part of their confidently is made sure that they do not share information.
A description of agency policies or mandates about confirms to evidentiality
Today at my field placement, we discuss the important of confidentiality. According to my agency policies, we have to make sure that everything we do is kept confidential. For example, I was observing and learning how to input documents into the computer. I found out that, everyone in the agency is required to keep every file, everything they do about that client has to be protected.
The files that inputted in the computer were also kept manually and under the table so that no one would know about their client’s names.
Discussing any client outside the office was a no-no. They were also required not to address any problem faced by the clients until they have any a consent letter from the client.
An explanation of potential challenges in communicating with clients within your agency
The challenges that I see with confidentiality within this agency is how they interact with each other. Some of the confidential information is shared throughout the agency and take lightly as a joke. I think it’s about time for all employee to come together and be supportive of this little fella who wanted a bike but lack of financial report

With the place that I am working at Paso Del Norte Children’s Development Center, I am working in a variety of places that require different safety plans. The number one rule is to always sit by the door and have the client sit in front of u while the door is behind you. This is in order to prevent any type of danger that may occur. The bright side about working with clients that are in our organization is that these clients are willing to meet with us. It is important to keep note that these clients are in need of help and come to us in order to get help with behavioral, students with special needs, or other specific behavior’s that kids need help with. There are also a number of speech therapists that work within the building and help the kids overcome their fears or behavior patterns when dealing with this issue.

As a State Correctional employee, we often use evaluations to analyze in-service training, policy reviews, programs and services, etc. It may seem as if we are over evaluating; however, this helps to ensure our services are effective.
Westat (2010) says the two reasons program evaluation exists, as written for the National Science Foundation, is to “improve a project” and “document what has been achieved” (p. 3).
The most consistent with my interest is program improvement. For instance, we had four different in-service courses with the same course information. An evaluation was passed out to the students at the end of the course to provide their opinion of the course. The comments prompted the instructors to redesign four courses into one. Evaluations are essential tool in Corrections because it allows us to
document our achievements, which will result in data to support our reentry programs.

In my work with community corrections, I have not conducted any type of program evaluation; however, I understand program evaluation is designed to answer some key questions about a program’s effectiveness to the stakeholders (community, participants and staff). The overarching idea behind program evaluation is to ascertain if those who should benefit from the program are actually benefiting and if those performing the services to the community are skilled at providing the services. Another important aspect of program evaluation is to determine whether the allocated resources for the services are sufficient for addressing the needs of the population (The Program Manager’s Guide to Evaluation, 2010).
In looking at this week’s resources, Langbein (2012) identifies some distinct differences between program and project (p.3). A program is described as “ongoing services or activities” (Langbein, 2012, p. 3) while projects are intended to be one-time activities that has long-lasting sustainable impact on communities (p. 3). Thus, program evaluations should help determine the extent of a program’s success or lack thereof (what works and what does not work) as well as provide insight on navigating areas where unexpected circumstances occur (Westat, 2010). In short, program evaluations provide managers and administrators the data needed to prove or disprove the value of a program which ultimately impac.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Most sexual behavior problems must be delineated within the
context of the individual's personality, lifestyle, and
relationships with others. It is usually simplistic to label any
particular behavior automatically as a problem. Several criteria
are given that can be used to define sexual problems and that
can help put problematic sex into a more realistic and sensible
perspective. Determining when a sexual preference behavior
becomes a problem is highly subjective and requires a look into
different aspects of an individual's life, including his or her
lifestyle and cultural and social belief systems. Sexual abuse,
coercion, and assault of others represent serious sexual
problems (Kelly, 2015).
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and a variety of other
medical conditions can affect the sex organs and sexual activity.
Whereas STDs once were discussed only briefly in most human
sexuality courses, they are emerging as important issues again.
Considering that the incidence of several diseases is on the rise,
and that more organisms are being recognized as being capable
of sexual transmission, such a trend may be timely. One of the
most significant findings of the National Health and Social Life
Survey (NHSLS) was the direct correlation between the
numbers of sexual partners people have had and the likelihood
3. that they will have had a STD (National Opinion Research
Center at the University of Chicago, 1992).
Defining sexual dysfunctions is somewhat subjective, and
individual differences in the sexual response cycle are often
perfectly normal. Rather than simply labeling each dysfunction
and explaining it separately, we must examine it based on the
broader picture of sexual responsiveness and the total sexual
relationship. In recent years, there has been greater emphasis on
potential organic conditions that can manifest themselves in
sexual difficulties, including the effects of alcohol, other drugs,
and certain medications. On the other hand, it is still a safe
assumption that many sexual disorders of this sort are caused by
a vicious circle of anxiety and fear of failure generating lack of
responsiveness, or by difficulties within a relationship.

Required Resources heading). Read the case studies and select
one on which to base your paper. Try to choose the case study
that you feel best applies to the requirements for your paper,
which are provided in the instructions below.
Use your selected scenario to write a 3–4 page paper in which
you complete the following:
Identify and describe a concept (or concepts) and the general
perspective or approach to human sexuality that the concept
falls under (such as gender theories, instinct theory,
psychodynamic, or developmental) using correct terminology
from the course. If the concept or perspective is closely
associated with the writings of a particular theorist (such as
Freud, Kinsey, Masters and Johnson, and so on), then provide
that information. Explain how the concept fits the case study.
Select a minimum of two scholarly sources that support your
explanation of how the concept fits the case study. Connect
10. what you have learned in your research by integrating and
combining information from your source articles with the case
study.
Examine and explain how ethical standards guide professional
behavior as they relate to the issues and concepts identified in
the selected human sexuality case study. You must state the
specific ethical standard that relates to the topic or issue
highlighted in the case study and explain how this ethical
standard guides professional behavior.
Note:
Do not restate the case study within your paper; you should
only identify and refer to the selected case study as needed to
illustrate your points.
Your paper should follow a logical structure and be evidence
based. Use the MEAL plan to help guide the organization of
your paper.
Main Idea:
Present the main point or idea that you are making about your
case study related to sexual problems.
Evidence:
What does the research say? Support your statements with
