+ (a,b) = {x:a<x<b} i.e. end points are not included
+ Example: 1<x<2
• xϵ(1,2) – Paranthesis or ]1,2[
• Closed Interval
+ [a,b] = {x:a≤x≤b} i.e. end points are also included. This is possible only when
both a and b are finite.
+ Example: 1≤x≤2
• xϵ[1,2] – Square bracket
• Semi Closed / Semi Open Interval
+ (a,b]
+ Example: 1<x≤2
• xϵ(1,2]
+ [a,b)
+ Example: 1≤x<2
• xϵ[1,2)
