This document discusses a research project conducted by the DESIS GROUP Rio to design improved services for the aging population in Rio de Janeiro. It notes that Brazil faces an increasing aging population that requires revised service models to meet the needs of this growing demographic. The project aims to survey existing public and private elderly services in Rio de Janeiro and then use service innovation and redesign to develop ways for the elderly to better manage their conditions and maintain independence within their homes and communities.
