This senior project document summarizes the design and static analysis of the suspension system for a Volkswagen Golf MK7. The student created 3D models of the suspension parts in SolidWorks and performed static analysis in Abaqus to visualize stress results. Each suspension piece was analyzed separately and the results were compared to actual values to validate the models and room for improvements. The full project report detailed all phases of modeling the suspension system and presenting the analysis results.

Design and Analysis of Suspension System Project
Suspension systems play an integral role for vehicles. Their design must take into account that the
vehicle is safe to drive and have good performance on all possible road conditions. It is also of utmost
importance to satisfy the customers. The aim of this senior project is to make 3-D models of the parts
of suspension system from Volkswagen Golf MK7 and make a static analysis of the parts. Subsequent
to this SolidWorks program is used to make 3-D models and Abaqus Program is used to make a static
analysis and visualize the results. The results and methods of this senior project are presented such
that they can be used to design a working condition suspension system for any other car.
-Model car was chosen and suspension system was designed.
