Descriptive Essay On The Road
It all started at my house, my safe place, if you will. I see my dog, she is excited for the ride. We are about to start our journey, but we need to pack
our bags. I am packing and my eyes are drooping because it is early in the morning. I finally get done and we put our stuff in the car. I get in and I
hear the engine turning and then a constant buzzing sound, the car is on. 3....2....1.... We start our journey as we unite rubber to the cement. I roll
down the window and take a deep breath of fresh air. In the air I smell an absolutely disgusting stench. It is a pig farm to the west of us. I roll my
window up to avoid the bad smell. We are on our way to Arizona and I see a sign telling me that we are at the border of Nebraska. The sign says,
"Nebraska ... the good life," and there is a picture of a mountain and a red sun behind it. I roll down my window, knowing that we are out of the
smelly state of Iowa, and breath in fresh air again. I see a boring place, but it is night so that might be why it looks dead. When we got to the motel
to stay over night, I heard a squeal. The noise was made by two cars who had raced down the road. We hustled into the motel for we did not know
the neighborhood or anyone in Nebraska. I am tired because I can't sleep very much in the car. So I set all of my stuff down and flop in my bed to
fall into a deep sleep. I dreamt of being in the warm arms of Arizona. My dream was very comforting of course, but it had to end sometime. We woke
up still tired, so we went and had breakfast. The motel did not offer much, but it was good enough for now. We get back on the constructed pavement
and head straight towards Arizona. I was not looking forward to this ride, but we had to get it over with. Nebraska is a long and boring state, I
thought I would never leave the place. After waiting for what felt like a decade, we got to Colorado. After a while, it felt like there was popcorn
popping in my ear. Then I realized it was because we were heading up hills. This was because we were heading towards the mountains. The mountains
were white on the top and what seemed like a very dark blue. Colorado was colder than the other states, and we did stuff like horseback riding in the
mountains and ziplining. It

A Short Story : A Story Of A Story?
" Does everyone understand the plan" I said staring at my siblings Charra, Alaya, and Angel. Their eyes held determination and understanding as they
nodded their heads in confirmation " Alright, split up and get to your places." I said
They nod their heads and headed in the directions that they were assigned to for the plan. I left the old smelly alley way that smelt like mildew and
sewage water. I grabbed my ruined bag , then pulled my tattered hoodie over my head the shadow of it cover most of my top part of my face and
stated heading towards the mini mart. My tattered holed shoes paves against the wet pavement as I head towards the direction of the store. Once
at the store the automatic doors open as I walked into the Mini Mart and looked around. I can hear the sound of Angel crying and the voices of the
men trying to ask her what's wrong. I knew the plan was in effect when I heard her cry out "mommy!". I casual strolled through the store looking at
a few items to make it look like I'm here for some stuff, but really I am checking out all the cameras in the place. They are all located in the corners
of the store and down each aisle. I Waited for the signal telling me that they are shut down. I saw charra standing by the shade stand trying on
different pair to see which one fits perfectly on her, when I heard the sound of the signal going off two long whistles and one short. I started
walking towards the package meals and started putting the food into the bag. Next I went to the canned foods, and the medicine, I looked over to
see Charra "Accidently" knocking into people and stealing their money out of their pockets. " HEY YOU WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR
DOING!!!" Someone yelled startling me causing me to drop the items I had in my hands. "Shit!" I whispered as I looked over to see one of the
employees a 30 looking old white man with a pork belly wearing the mini mart logo shirt pointing at me.
He started heading towards my direction so I did what any normal person in this town would do, I turned and ran in the opposite direction toward the

The Day Of School And She Ate And Made The Perfect Dress
In her room, she ate and made the perfect dress. Tomorrow was the first day of school and she had been planning this dress since the beginning of
summer. It turned out just as she had wanted it. It was a sundress. It was white with a thin pink layer covering it and small straps. She wore white
sandals and her hair in a crown braid. She laid the outfit out on her desk and read her favorite book in bed until she fell asleep with the book clutched
to her chest.
As she hurried to bike to school the next day a smile curved onto her lips and she thought of the day. The moment she stepped in the door that thought
changed. Bodies hurried everywhere and noise filled her ears. She quickly sought her way to her locker and went through her first ... Show more content

The deep blue of his eyes calmed the rapid beating of her heart. He knew nothing of her but her name and her song and yet he spoke with a feeling of
lighthearted happiness. She would not tell him. She would not ruin this feeling. She held strong to the tendrils of warmth that reached toward her.
"By the way," he mentioned, "my name is James Mayor."
"I 'm Ella."
"Just Ella?"
"Just Ella."
They broke apart as they heard the end of school bell ring and she paused in fear but looked over to see the boy laughing. She couldn 't help but laugh
as well. They exchanged numbers and as she biked home, his name echoed in her head over and over again. James, James, James, wonderful, kind,
giving, warm James.
"Mama didn 't you used to sing that song to me when I was little?" asked Blue in a questioning manner.
"Yes I did, good memory, but I think that it 's time for bed."
"Oh no Mama, just a little bit more."
"Tomorrow, Ilove you my little Blue."
"I love you too Mama." As she told the story the next night, Blue couldn 't stop smiling. Then the door opened and her husband stuck his head in with
a smile and she abruptly stopped talking. "What, I can 't hear the story too?" asked her husband. "Absolutely not, this is a girl 's story!" "Fine, then I
won 't bother you. Good night Blue."
He shut the door and she waited until the footsteps receded before she continued.

Beach Descriptive Essay
The beach is known for being a place to relax; the beach I went to was a run–of–the–mill beach, tan sand with rocks next to an aqua sea, I was there
with my Mother and family on a cloudless day in summer 2009.Nevertheless we were on the beach, it was filled with umbrellas of all colors,
filling the beach like a canvas with hundreds of strokes on it. Starting our trip started with setting up our blanket and umbrella so we could sit
down to relax at the start, but we all wanted to head out and swim so I put on my yellow goggles and arm floaters with dolphins on them, heading
into the water which was reasonably warm in 90 degree weather . We were fairly deep into the water, the goggles and arm floaters were making
sure I kept above the water as well as not inhaling any, it was fun splashing my family or going underwater to test how far we could see which was
four inches. Out of nowhere, my Mother had screeched "Just stand sideways, you'll be fine!",abruptly, I saw it towering over us, a shadow coming
towards us, I started to run away, or at least make an attempt to. Fear consumes me ,my only thoughts were heading to shore where I would be safe
from the wave, I barely went half a foot away before it grabbed me. It grabbed on, dragged me to the middle where I couldn't move up to inhale air
or push myself off the bottom to jump, I was trapped under the water, waves above taunting knowing I was trapped. Water was running past , I
started to feel a strong tug on my head, before I could realize what was going on, my goggles were dashing away with the water, but I could still open
my eyes under the water without the sting of saline water in my eyes. Everything was a mushy brown color, all the sand started to be pulled up, mixing
with the water, everything in front of and below me was turbid, but when I look up to see the surface of the water, it was shining, crystal clear even.
For a bit wondered if I was gazing at Heaven and the wave was my ride to heaven, but the pain snapped me back to reality, black spots were flooding
my vision while pain was wrapped around my chest. It had wrapped around me, began to trail down to my toes and rise to my head, it hurt so much, I
started to feel tired,

Colorado Terror: A Short Story
Colorado Terror It was the summer of 2014 and my family were vacationing in Colorado. My family and I just got off the Pikes Peak Cog when
Abby, my third oldest sister, whined, "I'm hungry mom. Let's get something to eat." Abby seems to always be hungry. My dad wanted barbecue
so we decided to stop at this barbecue place right next to the steps. I was eating my pulled pork (it was some good pulled pork) when I asked if we
could go up the steps. We asked the owner of the shop about the steps and the old, pleasant lady replied, "That's the Manitou Incline. Its 0.9th of a
mile up, but most of it is at a 80o angle." We decided we should go try it and see if we liked it. Then, once we got done eating our lunch, we walked

It felt so good because I had been sweating and thirsty. I sat down on this big rock to rest for awhile. As I got up and started to walk down the
steps, I met Taylor about 50 steps down the incline. I walked back up to the top with her and then we both rested for awhile. At this point it started
to rain more heavily and then a breeze came on. After Taylor caught her breath we headed back down the steps to see if we can meet my mom, Abby,
and Maddie. About the same spot that I met Taylor, I met all of them together. As all of us went to the top, it started to thunder, lightning, and the wind
picked up. We ran to the top and hid behind this big rock to block us from the wind and rain. Then, about 10 minutes later, after all the rain had
stopped, we decided to head back down. The steps were slippery as we walk down and we had to watch our step. As we were about to reach the
halfway point, Abby all the sudden loses her footing and regains it. At this point she was running down hill coming straight for me. "JOSH! JOSH!
JOSH!" Abby screamed in terror. I turned around just in time see her within 8 feet of me. All the sudden I lowered my shoulder and hit her like a ton
of bricks. She lay there holding her head from the impact of the tackle. My mom came running after her to see if she was

I looked at Alan as if he was joking around. I was positive that we had already talked about what we were doing tonight.

Margaux: A Short Story
One minute Margaux was struggling to escape a surgery with little to no chance or her survival and speedy recovery and the next she was passed out.
The surrounding doctors didn't know what had happened. Maybe she was mentally scarred and frustrated? Maybe she had hit her head too hard when
the straps that bounded her from escaping tightened? Maybe she was stalling, they had no clue.
Poor, young Margaux was rummaging through the contents of her imagination for a remotely calming dream or two, and then she felt as if she was
falling. Some sort of dream began. It began in a black, empty space, and then she had noticed that she was falling. But was she falling in her dream or
in reality?

She was curious as to what this had to relate to what was happening, it looked like they were so detailed, an artist had painted them on. Attempting to
clear her mind and complete some form of progress, she had tried to stand up but then fell to her hands and knees. Recovering, soon she lifted her head
up. The pain that was once focused on two spots of the forehead was now distant, resulting in two thick, dusted grey horns, the same embossed pattern
then around said horns and the shoulderblades of her back.
Margaux didn't feel like herself anymore. She wanted a new name for this being, newly formed. Something reflecting her lavish new mindset. She felt
like the ruler of the world, like the pain that had transformed her was nothing but power, riches and a lifestyle change. She felt like The Emperor as of
now; which is what she decided to nickname this creature that was once herself in the end.
At this point, "The Emperor" was able to stand, focusing on the dirt stained skulls scattered around where she once was lying. Their jaws were
moving, speaking, as if someone was messing around with her.

As the school day came to an end Sophie was ready to go home with her friends. When the final bell rang she was one of the first ones out of her seat

her friends approached. "Sorry I thought you were still inside and you went to your locker to wait but then I saw Jade head outside so I followed her to

Soccer Concussions
Although soccer is one of the leading sports to cause concussions, I believe that soccer players should be able to head the ball at all ages because it
takes away from the fundamentals of the game, and it causes the game to feel unnatural to the players while it also causes players to overthink. On
February 16, 2016, the United States Soccer Federation declared that no one under the age of 13 was allowed to head the ball because of the staggering
concussion numbers that soccer had brought in. A concussion is any trauma or blow to the head, and some symptoms of a concussion is headache,
unconsciousness, nausea, and dizziness. This new rule has made drastic changes to the game that we used to think was soccer. Not enabling heading
for soccer players clearly defies the fundamentals of the game because players will, or would, often use their head to propel the ball forward to
move away from their defender, but now with the new heading rule, players are not allowed anymore to use their head until they are at least 13.
This new rule will forever change the way that soccer will develop all around the United States because players will not be able to use a very useful
part of their body until they are a teenager. As stated by Sahar Milani of the American Youth Soccer Organization(AYSO), "The new policy includes
that an indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team if a player age 10 or younger, deliberately touches the ball with his/her head during a
game". This

My Strengths In Football
One of my strengths in football is passing. Passing is a key part in the game of football. The aim is to maintain possession to try and create
opportunities to score to win the game. When I'm going to pass the ball I make sure that I use the correct technique when deciding to play a certain
pass. During a game I would use the inside of my strong foot (left), keeping the ball low when performing a short pass. However, when I'm going to
play a longer pass or switching the ball I would use the 'laces' on my boot technique by drilling the ball to another teammate judging the weight and
height of the pass depending on the distance away from him. Also I would make sure that I stay very calm and composed so that I don't make any
errors or hesitate.
Anther, strong physical aspect of my game would be my cardiovascular endurance, which enables me to play to the full 90 minutes and beyond. It
allows me to continue working at my best, relentlessly closing down opposition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This Is because, improving my headers allows me to get enough power in my header within a cross situation. This means that If my team see that I'm
good at heading then they would be crossing the ball in most of the time. If my heading is better that would mean that I I can use this skill to an
advantage for scoring more goals. However, because my heading is a weakness I cannot head the ball first time when the ball is crossed and cannot get
enough power.
When training I will be working on heading. My training program involves football training evolved around heading the ball. Every week the
activities I do I would make sure that I increase the intensity which would allow my progression to be quicker and see improvements. I will do the
same activities but the will get harder and I will do them for longer each time. I will keep doing these activities so my effort put in does not start to
reverse. I also do the same amount of activities, in the training program, each

Personal Narrative : A Hockey Game
It was a very cold winter day in December. I was heading off to a hockey game just like any other day. My dad screamed down the steps, "Ryan, did
you pack your bag? We got to go!" My dad never wants to be late for hockey or feel rushed to get there. I woke up earlier than normal on this day in
December. My inline hockey games were not typically early, but this day in particular, it was at 8 am. I skipped breakfast at home, but my dad asked,
"Do you want something small from McDonald's?" I said, "Sure!" I enjoyed the hashbrown from McDonald's as I knew I would eat a bigger meal after
the game.
First, driving to the game, I was doing my usual thing. I was listening to music, getting fired up for the game. I have a certain loop of music that I
listen to that gets me in a pumped–up mood to play hockey. I was still a bit tired and sluggish as I arrived to the rink because I felt like my hockey bag
was heavier than normal. Plus, it was aggravating to carry it across the parking lot while it was below freezing. Next, I enter into the rink and was
greeted by the coach who told me which locker room to go to. Then I hear, "Luther, ready for the game?" I look back and politely say, "Yeah", but I
know I had to do some waking up still. It didn't take long for me to awake! We did our warm ups outside in the cold! It is hard to get warmed up
outside in those type of temperatures, but it certainly wakes me up though!

The next week was a breeze and it comes down to the night before I had already packed all my stuff that night I was told of the trip. Next morning I
woke up bright and early ate breakfast and we headed to the airport. The next few hours were mostly just traveling typical airplane food, only thing
that was interesting about the travel was the fact that during one of flights I was sat beside a drunk idiot and then got moved up a few seats and got 3
seats all to myself! When we finally landed in Pakistan it did not look anything different than in Canada. I thought "oh well maybe it looks the same,
and is the same" because personally I didn't know much about this place other than the fact I had family here. When we got all our stuff and
headed out in a car I noticed nothing different but that might have been due to the fact I was kind of fatigued and the fact we were in a bigger city.
On the travel to my cousins I fell asleep, and didn't get woken up until we reached their house. When I got out of the car I was too tired and was way

"Amun," Jamie yelled from his office. "Joy, the devil," I whispered to myself as I trudged across the hall to hell. "New case. There have been several
killings this past week and I'd like you to go over the file. Cops still don't know who it is, but you're the only lawyer who takes care of these cases so if
you don't want the job we will have to call someone from out of state to see if they would like to take this case. Look at the file, think about it, let me
know if you would like to take it, by Friday." I picked the file up off his desk and toiled back to my office. I knew I would take the case, but I thought
I'd look over it a little just in case. I glanced at the clock, counting down the seconds till I could leave.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3:27. I rolled over to face Annika but she wasn't there. I sat up in bed and saw a knife gleaming in the moonlight under the window. I got up out of
bed and noticed blood leading down the hall. I slowly and silently started walking down the hall. I opened the door to the basement and I heard her
scream. "Go away! Leave me alone! Don't touch me ever again." I stopped. Confused. Had I done something? Did she thinking I was the killer? I
started down. And saw her in the corner. She saw me and started screaming more. "I can't believe you! Leave me alone! Leave this house! I'll call the
cops!" I walked back slowly. Once I reached the door I bolted.I ran into the couch. I stumbled over the chair and saw my watch in front of me along

Short Story Of Greenvale Girls Boarding School
"Come on Ava!" yelled an excited Sophia from downstairs. I dragged my suitcase out of my room. It was half way through the year and our mother
had decided to ship us off to a boarding school for girls. "Ava!!!!" Sophia was an incredibly adventurous person. I on the other hand would like a nice
relaxing day reading a book and leaving the adventures to the characters in my stories. As I reached the bottom of the staircase the doorbell rang and
broke my train of thought. "I've got it!!" Sophia said as she raced to the door. I followed after her.
She opened the door and stood staring. Looking down at us was a tall slim figure of a woman. She had such a pinched up face and I wondered how
uncomfortable it must be. "Sophia, Ava?" She said sharply. We both nodded our heads in unison. "I'm Mrs Cox the Principal of Greenvale Girls
Boarding school. I've come to pick you up" I looked at Sophia. She shrugged and went to tell mother who was probably in the kitchen. I was left with
this woman staring at me.
We stood awkwardly in silence, well she didn't seem to find it awkward. Finally Sophia and mother came around the corner and rescued me from
Mrs Cox poison glare. As I hopped into Mrs Cox car I waved bye to mother and turned to Sophia. "Sophia" I said. She turned to look at me. "What do
you think it will be like?" I said. "Be quiet!" Mrs Cox yelled from the front passenger's seat. Sophia shrugged and put her feet up of the seat in front.
Typical of Sophia I thought. Mrs Cox turned

Essay About My New Years
That New Years was the most rough, fun, exciting and painful New Years I have experienced in my 14 years of life. The people who were present
were Lorrissa, her older sister Leena, Megan E. , Jadynn and of course me. We were spending that New Year's at Lorrissas hoping for a fun night.
That night was mostly fun but at times it was... dramatic to say the least. I arrived after Jadynn but before Megan, we decided we would wait until
Megan got here to start doing the interesting things. When Megan did get there we got on our snow gear and tied a light green long sled to the black
four wheeler. Lorrissa drove us around first, it was also my first time doing that so as anyone would expect I would have fell off multifarious times but

After a while Lorrissa, Megan and I went up to her room and sat around and talked until around three in the morning. None of us talked after that we
just laughed at the silence of the room, none of us could help it. Nothing was funny about the situation except for Lorrissas laugh that would come up
after maybe 2 minutes of silence.
When we woke up Megan left around eight in the morning and Jadynn came back and we went out for more sledding. The worst part was when it
was just Leena and I, we were on the side of the road and there was a mailbox coming up. I did not hear Lorrissa holler back at Leena and I to duck
down, but Leena did. I ended up smashing the back of my head into the mailbox, I was in too much of a shock to cry. I had known that I hit my head
but I didn't really feel the discomfort of the strike.
After that we went inside and Lorrissa retrieved a bag of frozen peas to aid the aching of the back of my head. Later Jadynn got picked up while
Harlyn, Leena, Reana, Lorrissa and I headed to Xtreme Air. We bounced and trampled around for an hour and headed back to Lorrissas. I was later

The Body As A Metaphor For Society
In Andean society many societies and cultures generally believed that all things, such as mountains, rivers, and waterfalls had life (Benson 2001: 1).
The Andean individuals believed that all inanimate objects were thus animated. This ideology not only influenced the way they thought about the
world, but also the way they treated and viewed the body. The body is a very important and useful theme in archeology as the body acts as a metaphor
for society, the way a society/culture treats the body provides vital important regarding their worldview. In addition, the body is a tool of lived
experience which can indicate how individuals lived, what was sacred or important to them and also shedding light on who they were. In other words,
by understanding how bodies were conceptualized in Andean societies archeologist can indicate the significance of certain ritual practices. It is
important to deconstruct the body as it provides social truths regarding a specific culture within the Andean region. Furthermore, people do things to
their bodies which may help archeologists understand their belief system, the practices/work they may have been doing. For example, if an individual
spends their whole life grinding corn the body would reflect this activity and thus would be able provide information regarding that culture. This theme
concerning 'the body' pushes us to consider distinct ontologies as different cultures and societies developed differently and thus has diverse beliefs,

Observation Essay
It was about 10:30 Saturday morning when I woke up, still feeling bad from the night before. My boyfriend decided at the last minute to surprise
me and four of our children with a day at the beach the day before. We left with only the clothes on our backs and bathing suits. It was only after we
arrived that we decided to stay the night. So we got us a room at the Sea Foam motel in Nags Head, NC.
After I was finally able to get up from the bed, I woke the children up to get ready so we could leave. We all took showers, packed up all our
belongings and headed out. It was well past the check–out time before we left, but the housekeeper just laughed and told us to take our time. We all

My boyfriend and I watched as the seagulls flew overhead and the children tossed them breadcrumbs, ducking their heads every time one would
swoop down over them. Just before we reached the Island, I caught a glimpse of a pod of dolphins swimming along in the distance. Minutes later
we were able to spot the Island, so we all headed back to our vehicles as we approached Ocaracoke. Once we reached the dock, we waited in the van
until it was our turn to exit.
Once we had departed the ferry, we continued south on Highway 12. We passed several restaurants and gift shops on our way. There were people
walking and riding bikes along the sides of the road as we drove past. It was not very long before we had reached the southern tip of the Island, so
we turned around on Highway 12 and started heading back north towards the ferry. Along the way we decided to stop by one of the gift shops called
"The Pirates Chest." We all went inside to look around. The shop was filled with little knick knacks, toys, shells, etc. We let each of the children pick
them out something, paid the cashier and we were on our way again.
Before we reached the ferry, we made one more stop by "The Dipping Dots" for some ice cream. The shop had all sorts of goodies, including cakes,
brownies, fudge and candy. The children walked around the shop while we waited for the cashier to finish helping another customer. I could tell that

The Reality Of Evil Within Us
Agata Czawa
Ms. Walker
ENG 3U1–01
November 20, 2015
The Reality of Evil Within Us In the novel Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, Marlow, the Lawyer, the Doctor and the Accountant voyage down
to Africa from London to assist the Europeans with their mission to rule the Natives and discover ivory. This roots one to assume to being in a day
dream where it 's amazing as if you were having the time of your life than all of a sudden hell drops and you die resulting in a constant one 's life.
The complexity of inadequate regularity results in a fading reality, in which deaths and complications arise and cause evil to take root within humans.
The lack of deviation in the novel Heart of Darkness results in a reality fading for Marlow. "I felt often its mysterious stillness watching me at my
monkey tricks, just as it watches you fellows performing on your respective tight–ropes for––what is it? Half a crown a tumble–––– try to be civil,
Marlow"(Conrad 42). Marlow is forgetting his old regularity in London because he is being taken over by Africa 's constant which is dark, and
violent, and is referred to as the "heart of darkness". As a result, Marlow becomes attached to the heart of darkness, which can cause a dilemma when
he returns to London because it will constantly remind him of horrors that he witnessed. Marlow was aware that his gasp on reality was weakening
and thus, felt the need to remind himself to be civil. "They would have been more impressive; those heads on the

Essay about Personal Narrative: Being Asian American
I am a girl with two heads. At home, I wear my Chinese head, in school I wear my English head. Being an Asian, or Chinese, as it is commonly
referred to, my culture plays a key role in the development of who I am and what I do, my personal identity. An identity is the distinguishing
character or personality of an individual. Parents are often one of the key factors of this culturally developed personal identity. "Fortunately, children
do not need "perfect" parents. They do need mothers and fathers who will think on their feet and who will be thoughtful about what they have done.
They do need parents who can be flexible, and who can use a variety of approaches to discipline." – James L. Hymes, Jr. this quote, I can say, is

"A bamboo stick makes a good child." This was a famous quote that ran in my family for many years since it worked on every child my father
knows. I'm not sure it is superior or awful, but it works, for it was authoritarian restraint that tainted me from the past to the current me. It was the
day, the report card appeared into my mail box. I headed into the house slowly, my father walking in front of me. The marble stone floor was
colder than usual and was gnawing on my foot. The sense of danger hung in the air, but I walked on. As my father summon me to come forward
my foot, obediently, dragged themselves in front him. Knowing that I will be stroke with the slender bamboo stick, instead of fear rising,
indifference was replaced by it. The first blow struck my buttock. As it gained speed, almost the entire of my body surface was struck, and then it
ended. Black and blue covered my legs and arms as like it was paint. However, unlike paint, it can't be washed. I hate report cards. Since then, my
grades were above average, but until today, I still hate them. You can say that it was that day that changed my languid attitude to a busy worker. I can't
say that my attitude and behavior haven't changed from since, but I can say that it is kind of solid. In philosophy, the issue of personal identity
concerns the conditions under which a person at one time is the same person at another time. An analysis of personal identity

Descriptive Essay Oma
All I've ever wanted was for my oma to be here with me holding my hand. She was funny, kind, stern, and smart. She might have not made the best
choices like to smoke or drink. But she was still amazing. She was loved by many people expectually by me.
She was always remembered by everyone. I remember everyday I would go to her house and she would always be standing there waiting for me. She
would always play super Mario kart. We would always play Mario kart and watch movies together. Our favorite thing to do was go ride in my papa's
truck to Safeway and listen to Sugarland. That was her favorite country band, she always loved country and Sean Kingston.
Not only we would go to safeway to rent movies but we always went to the B and I. That was a place we loved they had animals and all sorts of cool
things to do. Her family was huge she has 8 kids many grandkids and many more people. Our family was like a herd of elephants it was so big! I really
wish she didn't smoke or drink. She was such a good woman.
It was a normal night, well so far. I was just getting dinner with my parents as usual. Then my dad received a phone call I didn't know what was

Analysis Of The Poem ' The Faces Of The Rainbow '
Bailey Tocups October 4, 2016 Crouse LIT The Faces Of The Rainbow "A Leprechaun 's Pot of Gold" This is who I am, what I am, and where I'm
heading. I've known since I was the tiniest of boys that I was different from the others, much, much different. It wasn't my physical appearance, my
origin, nor my speech that made me unique. It was something internal. Walking down the wet, red–bricked streets of Burlington, Vermont and
exclaiming 'Hello' to everyone I met was a natural, soft, fluttery feeling of giddiness. Some would wave, some would reply, and some stopped for
a conversation, like the sweet, understanding people they are. This is my home. The life and consciousness that makes me, me, I treasure and feel
blessed every day for it. Ms. Mooney from down the yellow, strong willed apartments loves to ask me about recent things. 'How has your
boyfriend been', or 'come over to my cafe for your next date, it's on the house', she would say. The sweet, sorrow in her melancholy voice would
remind me of her red haired, spirited girlfriend that passed away, but all she would do is smile brightly and make others smile around her. She
wouldn 't be the only one either to comment about my relationship in the town. Many of the people knew of Landon and I. He is the sweetest,
kindest, most affectionate person you will ever meet. With his caring words and soft voice that caresses the ears, he could melt anyone 's heart. I
would have told you that love, at first sight, was a myth until I

It was an average day for Mr. Sprinkle; warm, sunny, but also with a slight breeze coming in from the west. Inside his house, coffee started to pout in

town. Dealing with a delay in his work, the Narrator decides to observe the citizens of Starkfield. He notices Ethan Frome at the post office and
wonders why a man with immense strength seems so physically and mentally crippled. He decides to investigate and finds out that Ethan was a victim
of a "smash–up". The Narrator had been using Denis Eady 's horses to get to Corbury Flats so he could get on the train to the Junction, but when

My New York City
During my second day for my New York City trip, me and my friends decided to go ahead and check out a bit early from the hotel Gallivant . Our
plan was to go ahead and walk around the city before heading to our corporate site visits planned for the rest of the day. At that morning, I hurriedly
took a shower, packed my luggage and waited for my other friends in the hotel lobby. My friends were Arya, who is a fun lovingguy who always has
room for a joke or two; Andrew who is the quiet one in the group, Dhillon perhaps the most culturally centric person in the group who is always
enthusiastic and lastly John who is a tall, lanky kid who at times can be clumsy and awkward.
At around 12pm is for when we were all ready and decided to go and walk around the city, specifically in the Time Square region. The five of us were
walking on this gloomy and windy day dressed in our business professional outfits. Crowds of people were passing by as this central hub was

wandering left and right to the shopping stores. I remember the selfies people took and the hustling of crowds moving to the next attraction like ants
swarming in colonies. There was a case of red bleachers toward the center of time square.

The skys turn darker. Slowly it becomes gray. The rain will come in 40 min we are guessing that gives us 30 more minutes to ride bikes. This is

I hit it perfectly. I go flying and hit the next jump. We are having a great with my friends hitting the jumps and making our own jumps. Our new

far enough and he hit the knuckle of the landing. His bike popped up because of his non suspension bike. He face plants! His leg is bleeding and
he has a huge headache. I hit the jumps a couple times then I get tired and sit next to Patrick. We have 15 min before we are heading home. I am
playing on my phone when I get a notification. I check to see if I got a text from my mom or friends. I see that is is an alert from my weather app. I
open it and i see in big read letters that there is a tornado heading our way and to take shelter. I tell my friends what is happening and we all jump on
our bike and dart.
We are heading down a dirt path and Patrick is falling behind because of his head ach and his bloody leg so we switch bikes. This helps him go faster
and it also benefits me because I like his bmx bike. We are on course to barely beat the storm. Over the bike ride home the tornado picked up and we
were getting beat home. All of a sudden we feel a sharp just of wind that is coming from behind us. I am yelling at everyone to pick up the speed.
Tommy brakes hard and skids to the right into the trees all of us follow. We are feeling the wind whistle because it is going so fast through the trees.

think they're happy for what I did to the other four. They turn to wall and see me. They know I did it. A thug pushes me against a wall, I try to fight
back but two other ones come over and grab my arms and put them behind my back. One more comes over and takes my rifle and handgun. They

Role of Parents in Morrison's Recitatif and O'Connor's The Artificial Nigger
Parental figures in Toni Morrison's "Recitatif" and Flannery O'Connor's "The Artificial Nigger" use indoctrination in an attempt to uphold tradition and
reinforce racial boundaries. While one adult influence fulfills the mission entirely, the other must settle for inconstant, recurrent success and ultimate
failure.
In "Recitatif" and "The Artificial Nigger" a mother and a grandfather, respectively, with too much responsibility seek to alter the lives of two children
for the worst. Roberta Fisk and Nelson Head receive introductions to the concept of racism from people with a great deal of control over their lives.
Morrison's piece ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to the disturbing incident, Roberta ignores the racial difference between herself and Twyla because their similarities rise above any color barrier.
Two eight–year–olds orphaned to give their mothers more freedom and less worry find common ground more easily than perhaps imagined. Even
after the unsettling encounter, Roberta gives Twyla reason to believe that "she was sorry that her mother would not shake [Twyla's] mother's hand"
(214). Rather unluckily, Roberta's presence during her mother's actions, geared toward making Twyla and Mary feel small, upsets her stability. In the
same way, Nelson's feet slip from their base. Mr. Head not only publicly announces his racial attitudes, but he does so repeatedly. As he himself says,
"A six–month–old child don't know a nigger from anybody else" (252). The same idea applies to a ten–year–old child, especially if someone feels it
necessary for him to "be content to stay home for the rest of his life" (251). Nelson even has the urge to rest in a black woman's secure arms once
his grandfather gets them lost in the city. Still, Nelson learns to hate black people in Atlanta and decides "[he'll] never go back again" (270) based on
his perception of the city as allowed by Mr. Head. Though the competition almost overcomes them, Mr. Head and Roberta's mother apparently possess
almost absolute power.
Roberta and Nelson only learn

My Life Experience
Not many people can say their biggest life lesson was taught by a bus. On October 23, 2015 I was shown to never take my life for granted.
Lakeside Rams football was ready to face Dequeen for the chance to win a conference championship. The intensity of game day was electrifying
even though it was a humid, sultry, and rainy day we loaded the buses with our earphones in preparing ourselves for the night ahead. As we were
loading up my buddy Jeremy grabbed me on the shoulder and suggested we sat on the sophomore bus because there would be more room. I agreed
even though I despised the lower class and grabbed the back two seats of the bus. All the way up to this point in my life, I enjoyed bus rides and
enjoyed them ten times more when the reasoning was to go play football. I enjoyed the calmness and relaxation as much as I enjoyed the jokes,
sudden bursts of laughter, and the intensity I felt when we got closer to the stadium. Before we got to Dequeen there was a pregame meal at
Outback where we filled our bellies with greasy steak patties, loaded baked potatoes, and some green beans and this always caused someone to go
to every table and ask, "Anyone got leftovers?" As we ate that day, I surveyed the weather as I looked out the window and noticed the rain to get
heavier and the sky become darker and for some odd reason my stomach began to turn and I didn't feel well. Before this day, the atmosphere on the
bus was always a relaxation for me and helped me focus but that was

My Experience In High School Essay
It was a cool fall day, the pleasant cool breeze against my face, as I make my way down the road to the rendezvous point. I arrive at the high school,
and realize I'm slightly early. I put the skateboard on the ground and proceed to attempt to ride it, thankful that no one was there to see. Though I enjoy
skating, the point of meeting at the high school was so that no one had to see our novice attempts at it. After five minutes of failing to get the board to
leave the ground with me remaining on it, Raith and Mea cross the road just in time to witness my pitiful endeavor. We spent most of the morning
cruising on our boards and sitting, drinking various sodas we had brought, and chatting. It was a rather enjoyable start to the day, but by the time noon
rolled around, most of us had to use the bathroom. So we collectively decided to head down to the skate park because it was close, had a bathroom, and
sounded like it could be fun. Little did we know how much trouble would come from this little trip.
We arrive at the skate park to find that, surprisingly, no one is there. I make my way to the bathroom, as well does the rest of the group. Afterwards
we can't see the point of heading back immediately. I attempt a few ramps and fall on my butt a few times so, ultimately, we decide to sit at the
bench and talk. I was facing the road and Raith and Mea sat with their backs to it. At this point, I'm already uncomfortable being here, because I can't
skate to save my life and have

Descriptive Essay About My Family
"Wake up kids!" my mom exclaimed her words dragging me off the bed and into the shower. I jumped back as the sharp cold water pierced the skin
on my chest, a stream of "wake up" filled my body immediately. We woke up earlier than usual, which would probably be the usual for other
families, my family was already dressed and downstairs ready to go to our friends family reunion. I threw on a faded shirt and a worn pair of jeans,
they were old and i was wearing them, and headed down the stairs and into my mom's grey minivan.
"We have to pick up [her friend] before we go, remember?" my mother said as my dad drove out from the gate to our apartment complex. The seat
belt singed my arm with the Sun's relentless summer energy as I pulled it over to buckle up. "The van was already pretty full with the six of us" I
thought while our van pulled up in their driveway, my mom's friend opened the door to the side I was on and my mom told me to go to the back. I
did so with almost no thought but i really didn't want to sit in the back with my little brothers, so I sat in the seat nearest to the right window hoping I
could create enough space between us to ignore their loud childish banter. Outside the window there were so many love bugs, I despised those things
to the pit of my heart because there were so many and did absolutely nothing but be there, their joined bodies weightlessly moving through the air
grabbing my attent– phump! A t–shirt with a bundle of long flustered hair had

Descriptive Essay On The Road

  • 1. Descriptive Essay On The Road It all started at my house, my safe place, if you will. I see my dog, she is excited for the ride. We are about to start our journey, but we need to pack our bags. I am packing and my eyes are drooping because it is early in the morning. I finally get done and we put our stuff in the car. I get in and I hear the engine turning and then a constant buzzing sound, the car is on. 3....2....1.... We start our journey as we unite rubber to the cement. I roll down the window and take a deep breath of fresh air. In the air I smell an absolutely disgusting stench. It is a pig farm to the west of us. I roll my window up to avoid the bad smell. We are on our way to Arizona and I see a sign telling me that we are at the border of Nebraska. The sign says, "Nebraska ... the good life," and there is a picture of a mountain and a red sun behind it. I roll down my window, knowing that we are out of the smelly state of Iowa, and breath in fresh air again. I see a boring place, but it is night so that might be why it looks dead. When we got to the motel to stay over night, I heard a squeal. The noise was made by two cars who had raced down the road. We hustled into the motel for we did not know the neighborhood or anyone in Nebraska. I am tired because I can't sleep very much in the car. So I set all of my stuff down and flop in my bed to fall into a deep sleep. I dreamt of being in the warm arms of Arizona. My dream was very comforting of course, but it had to end sometime. We woke up still tired, so we went and had breakfast. The motel did not offer much, but it was good enough for now. We get back on the constructed pavement and head straight towards Arizona. I was not looking forward to this ride, but we had to get it over with. Nebraska is a long and boring state, I thought I would never leave the place. After waiting for what felt like a decade, we got to Colorado. After a while, it felt like there was popcorn popping in my ear. Then I realized it was because we were heading up hills. This was because we were heading towards the mountains. The mountains were white on the top and what seemed like a very dark blue. Colorado was colder than the other states, and we did stuff like horseback riding in the mountains and ziplining. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. A Short Story : A Story Of A Story? " Does everyone understand the plan" I said staring at my siblings Charra, Alaya, and Angel. Their eyes held determination and understanding as they nodded their heads in confirmation " Alright, split up and get to your places." I said They nod their heads and headed in the directions that they were assigned to for the plan. I left the old smelly alley way that smelt like mildew and sewage water. I grabbed my ruined bag , then pulled my tattered hoodie over my head the shadow of it cover most of my top part of my face and stated heading towards the mini mart. My tattered holed shoes paves against the wet pavement as I head towards the direction of the store. Once at the store the automatic doors open as I walked into the Mini Mart and looked around. I can hear the sound of Angel crying and the voices of the men trying to ask her what's wrong. I knew the plan was in effect when I heard her cry out "mommy!". I casual strolled through the store looking at a few items to make it look like I'm here for some stuff, but really I am checking out all the cameras in the place. They are all located in the corners of the store and down each aisle. I Waited for the signal telling me that they are shut down. I saw charra standing by the shade stand trying on different pair to see which one fits perfectly on her, when I heard the sound of the signal going off two long whistles and one short. I started walking towards the package meals and started putting the food into the bag. Next I went to the canned foods, and the medicine, I looked over to see Charra "Accidently" knocking into people and stealing their money out of their pockets. " HEY YOU WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!!!" Someone yelled startling me causing me to drop the items I had in my hands. "Shit!" I whispered as I looked over to see one of the employees a 30 looking old white man with a pork belly wearing the mini mart logo shirt pointing at me. He started heading towards my direction so I did what any normal person in this town would do, I turned and ran in the opposite direction toward the exist. " Someone stop that kid." • 3. The Day Of School And She Ate And Made The Perfect Dress In her room, she ate and made the perfect dress. Tomorrow was the first day of school and she had been planning this dress since the beginning of summer. It turned out just as she had wanted it. It was a sundress. It was white with a thin pink layer covering it and small straps. She wore white sandals and her hair in a crown braid. She laid the outfit out on her desk and read her favorite book in bed until she fell asleep with the book clutched to her chest. As she hurried to bike to school the next day a smile curved onto her lips and she thought of the day. The moment she stepped in the door that thought changed. They broke apart as they heard the end of school bell ring and she paused in fear but looked over to see the boy laughing. She couldn 't help but laugh as well. They exchanged numbers and as she biked home, his name echoed in her head over and over again. James, James, James, wonderful, kind, giving, warm James. "Mama didn 't you used to sing that song to me when I was little?" asked Blue in a questioning manner. "Yes I did, good memory, but I think that it 's time for bed." "Oh no Mama, just a little bit more." "Tomorrow, Ilove you my little Blue." "I love you too Mama." As she told the story the next night, Blue couldn 't stop smiling. Then the door opened and her husband stuck his head in with a smile and she abruptly stopped talking. "What, I can 't hear the story too?" asked her husband. "Absolutely not, this is a girl 's story!" "Fine, then I won 't bother you. Good night Blue." He shut the door and she waited until the footsteps receded before she continued. She arrived home and went through the night in a lovestruck haze. As she fell asleep, her dreams never

  • 5. Beach Descriptive Essay The beach is known for being a place to relax; the beach I went to was a run–of–the–mill beach, tan sand with rocks next to an aqua sea, I was there with my Mother and family on a cloudless day in summer 2009.Nevertheless we were on the beach, it was filled with umbrellas of all colors, filling the beach like a canvas with hundreds of strokes on it. Starting our trip started with setting up our blanket and umbrella so we could sit down to relax at the start, but we all wanted to head out and swim so I put on my yellow goggles and arm floaters with dolphins on them, heading into the water which was reasonably warm in 90 degree weather . We were fairly deep into the water, the goggles and arm floaters were making sure I kept above the water as well as not inhaling any, it was fun splashing my family or going underwater to test how far we could see which was four inches. Out of nowhere, my Mother had screeched "Just stand sideways, you'll be fine!",abruptly, I saw it towering over us, a shadow coming towards us, I started to run away, or at least make an attempt to. Fear consumes me ,my only thoughts were heading to shore where I would be safe from the wave, I barely went half a foot away before it grabbed me. It grabbed on, dragged me to the middle where I couldn't move up to inhale air or push myself off the bottom to jump, I was trapped under the water, waves above taunting knowing I was trapped. Water was running past , I started to feel a strong tug on my head, before I could realize what was going on, my goggles were dashing away with the water, but I could still open my eyes under the water without the sting of saline water in my eyes. Everything was a mushy brown color, all the sand started to be pulled up, mixing with the water, everything in front of and below me was turbid, but when I look up to see the surface of the water, it was shining, crystal clear even. For a bit wondered if I was gazing at Heaven and the wave was my ride to heaven, but the pain snapped me back to reality, black spots were flooding my vision while pain was wrapped around my chest. It had wrapped around me, began to trail down to my toes and rise to my head, it hurt so much, I started to feel tired, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Colorado Terror: A Short Story Colorado Terror It was the summer of 2014 and my family were vacationing in Colorado. My family and I just got off the Pikes Peak Cog when Abby, my third oldest sister, whined, "I'm hungry mom. Let's get something to eat." Abby seems to always be hungry. My dad wanted barbecue so we decided to stop at this barbecue place right next to the steps. I was eating my pulled pork (it was some good pulled pork) when I asked if we could go up the steps. We asked the owner of the shop about the steps and the old, pleasant lady replied, "That's the Manitou Incline. Its 0.9th of a mile up, but most of it is at a 80o angle." We decided we should go try it and see if we liked it. Then, once we got done eating our lunch, we walked over to the incline.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I walked back up to the top with her and then we both rested for awhile. At this point it started to rain more heavily and then a breeze came on. After Taylor caught her breath we headed back down the steps to see if we can meet my mom, Abby, and Maddie. About the same spot that I met Taylor, I met all of them together. As all of us went to the top, it started to thunder, lightning, and the wind picked up. We ran to the top and hid behind this big rock to block us from the wind and rain. Then, about 10 minutes later, after all the rain had stopped, we decided to head back down. The steps were slippery as we walk down and we had to watch our step. As we were about to reach the halfway point, Abby all the sudden loses her footing and regains it. At this point she was running down hill coming straight for me. "JOSH! JOSH! JOSH!" • 7. Personal Narrative- Nearly Fatal Car Accident Essay The fluorescent lights blinded me as I tried to open my eyes. Where am I, I thought to myself? I jolted my head back and forth desperately trying to figure out where I was. I heard a voice say, "Hold him down, we are almost there." A sharp pain ran down my back to my feet. All I could see were lights flashing and shadows moving in all directions. The rolling bed that I was on stopped abruptly and a mask was placed over my face. The surrounding doctors didn't know what had happened. Maybe she was mentally scarred and frustrated? Maybe she had hit her head too hard when the straps that bounded her from escaping tightened? Maybe she was stalling, they had no clue. Poor, young Margaux was rummaging through the contents of her imagination for a remotely calming dream or two, and then she felt as if she was falling. The pain that was once focused on two spots of the forehead was now distant, resulting in two thick, dusted grey horns, the same embossed pattern then around said horns and the shoulderblades of her back. She felt like The Emperor as of now; which is what she decided to nickname this creature that was once herself in the end. At this point, "The Emperor" was able to stand, focusing on the dirt stained skulls scattered around where she once was lying. • 12. Soccer Concussions Although soccer is one of the leading sports to cause concussions, I believe that soccer players should be able to head the ball at all ages because it takes away from the fundamentals of the game, and it causes the game to feel unnatural to the players while it also causes players to overthink. On February 16, 2016, the United States Soccer Federation declared that no one under the age of 13 was allowed to head the ball because of the staggering concussion numbers that soccer had brought in. A concussion is any trauma or blow to the head, and some symptoms of a concussion is headache, unconsciousness, nausea, and dizziness. This new rule has made drastic changes to the game that we used to think was soccer. Not enabling heading for soccer players clearly defies the fundamentals of the game because players will, or would, often use their head to propel the ball forward to move away from their defender, but now with the new heading rule, players are not allowed anymore to use their head until they are at least 13. This new rule will forever change the way that soccer will develop all around the United States because players will not be able to use a very useful part of their body until they are a teenager. As stated by Sahar Milani of the American Youth Soccer Organization(AYSO), "The new policy includes that an indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team if a player age 10 or younger, deliberately touches the ball with his/her head during a game". • 14. My Strengths In Football One of my strengths in football is passing. Passing is a key part in the game of football. The aim is to maintain possession to try and create opportunities to score to win the game. When I'm going to pass the ball I make sure that I use the correct technique when deciding to play a certain pass. During a game I would use the inside of my strong foot (left), keeping the ball low when performing a short pass. However, when I'm going to play a longer pass or switching the ball I would use the 'laces' on my boot technique by drilling the ball to another teammate judging the weight and height of the pass depending on the distance away from him. Also I would make sure that I stay very calm and composed so that I don't make any errors or hesitate. Anther, strong physical aspect of my game would be my cardiovascular endurance, which enables me to play to the full 90 minutes and beyond. It allows me to continue working at my best, relentlessly closing down opposition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My dad screamed down the steps, "Ryan, did you pack your bag? We got to go!" My dad never wants to be late for hockey or feel rushed to get there. I woke up earlier than normal on this day in December. My inline hockey games were not typically early, but this day in particular, it was at 8 am. The Andean individuals believed that all inanimate objects were thus animated. This ideology not only influenced the way they thought about the world, but also the way they treated and viewed the body. The body is a very important and useful theme in archeology as the body acts as a metaphor for society, the way a society/culture treats the body provides vital important regarding their worldview. In addition, the body is a tool of lived experience which can indicate how individuals lived, what was sacred or important to them and also shedding light on who they were. In other words, by understanding how bodies were conceptualized in Andean societies archeologist can indicate the significance of certain ritual practices. It is important to deconstruct the body as it provides social truths regarding a specific culture within the Andean region. The Reality Of Evil Within Us Agata Czawa Ms. Walker ENG 3U1–01 November 20, 2015 The Reality of Evil Within Us In the novel Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, Marlow, the Lawyer, the Doctor and the Accountant voyage down to Africa from London to assist the Europeans with their mission to rule the Natives and discover ivory. This roots one to assume to being in a day dream where it 's amazing as if you were having the time of your life than all of a sudden hell drops and you die resulting in a constant one 's life. The complexity of inadequate regularity results in a fading reality, in which deaths and complications arise and cause evil to take root within humans. The lack of deviation in the novel Heart of Darkness results in a reality fading for Marlow. "I felt often its mysterious stillness watching me at my monkey tricks, just as it watches you fellows performing on your respective tight–ropes for––what is it? Half a crown a tumble–––– try to be civil, Marlow"(Conrad 42). Marlow is forgetting his old regularity in London because he is being taken over by Africa 's constant which is dark, and violent, and is referred to as the "heart of darkness". As a result, Marlow becomes attached to the heart of darkness, which can cause a dilemma when he returns to London because it will constantly remind him of horrors that he witnessed. • 29. Essay about Personal Narrative: Being Asian American I am a girl with two heads. At home, I wear my Chinese head, in school I wear my English head. Being an Asian, or Chinese, as it is commonly referred to, my culture plays a key role in the development of who I am and what I do, my personal identity. An identity is the distinguishing character or personality of an individual. Parents are often one of the key factors of this culturally developed personal identity. "Fortunately, children do not need "perfect" parents. They do need mothers and fathers who will think on their feet and who will be thoughtful about what they have done. They do need parents who can be flexible, and who can use a variety of approaches to discipline." – James L. Hymes, Jr. this quote, I can say, is physically... I'm not sure it is superior or awful, but it works, for it was authoritarian restraint that tainted me from the past to the current me. It was the day, the report card appeared into my mail box. I headed into the house slowly, my father walking in front of me. The marble stone floor was colder than usual and was gnawing on my foot. The sense of danger hung in the air, but I walked on. As my father summon me to come forward my foot, obediently, dragged themselves in front him. Knowing that I will be stroke with the slender bamboo stick, instead of fear rising, indifference was replaced by it. The first blow struck my buttock. As it gained speed, almost the entire of my body surface was struck, and then it ended. Black and blue covered my legs and arms as like it was paint. However, unlike paint, it can't be washed. I hate report cards. Since then, my grades were above average, but until today, I still hate them. You can say that it was that day that changed my languid attitude to a busy worker. I can't say that my attitude and behavior haven't changed from since, but I can say that it is kind of solid. In philosophy, the issue of personal identity concerns the conditions under which a person at one time is the same person at another time. An analysis of personal identity ... I've known since I was the tiniest of boys that I was different from the others, much, much different. It wasn't my physical appearance, my origin, nor my speech that made me unique. It was something internal. Walking down the wet, red–bricked streets of Burlington, Vermont and exclaiming 'Hello' to everyone I met was a natural, soft, fluttery feeling of giddiness. Some would wave, some would reply, and some stopped for a conversation, like the sweet, understanding people they are. This is my home. The life and consciousness that makes me, me, I treasure and feel blessed every day for it. Ms. Mooney from down the yellow, strong willed apartments loves to ask me about recent things. 'How has your boyfriend been', or 'come over to my cafe for your next date, it's on the house', she would say. Once the kids were done with their food, they, alongside with Mr. Sprinkle and his wife, rushed around the house preparing to head out in a couple of minutes. • 36. My New York City During my second day for my New York City trip, me and my friends decided to go ahead and check out a bit early from the hotel Gallivant . Our plan was to go ahead and walk around the city before heading to our corporate site visits planned for the rest of the day. At that morning, I hurriedly took a shower, packed my luggage and waited for my other friends in the hotel lobby. My friends were Arya, who is a fun lovingguy who always has room for a joke or two; Andrew who is the quiet one in the group, Dhillon perhaps the most culturally centric person in the group who is always enthusiastic and lastly John who is a tall, lanky kid who at times can be clumsy and awkward. At around 12pm is for when we were all ready and decided to go and walk around the city, specifically in the Time Square region. The five of us were walking on this gloomy and windy day dressed in our business professional outfits. Crowds of people were passing by as this central hub was illuminate with billboards from Nike, Polo, McDonalds and Coca Cola. I remember seeing outdoor cafГ© sitting areas and people constantly wandering left and right to the shopping stores. I remember the selfies people took and the hustling of crowds moving to the next attraction like ants swarming in colonies. There was a case of red bleachers toward the center of time square. While one adult influence fulfills the mission entirely, the other must settle for inconstant, recurrent success and ultimate failure. In "Recitatif" and "The Artificial Nigger" a mother and a grandfather, respectively, with too much responsibility seek to alter the lives of two children for the worst. Even after the unsettling encounter, Roberta gives Twyla reason to believe that "she was sorry that her mother would not shake [Twyla's] mother's hand" (214). Rather unluckily, Roberta's presence during her mother's actions, geared toward making Twyla and Mary feel small, upsets her stability. In the same way, Nelson's feet slip from their base. Mr. Head not only publicly announces his racial attitudes, but he does so repeatedly. As he himself says, "A six–month–old child don't know a nigger from anybody else" (252). The same idea applies to a ten–year–old child, especially if someone feels it necessary for him to "be content to stay home for the rest of his life" (251). Nelson even has the urge to rest in a black woman's secure arms once his grandfather gets them lost in the city. The intensity of game day was electrifying even though it was a humid, sultry, and rainy day we loaded the buses with our earphones in preparing ourselves for the night ahead. As we were loading up my buddy Jeremy grabbed me on the shoulder and suggested we sat on the sophomore bus because there would be more room. I agreed even though I despised the lower class and grabbed the back two seats of the bus. All the way up to this point in my life, I enjoyed bus rides and enjoyed them ten times more when the reasoning was to go play football. I enjoyed the calmness and relaxation as much as I enjoyed the jokes, sudden bursts of laughter, and the intensity I felt when we got closer to the stadium. Before we got to Dequeen there was a pregame meal at Outback where we filled our bellies with greasy steak patties, loaded baked potatoes, and some green beans and this always caused someone to go to every table and ask, "Anyone got leftovers?" As we ate that day, I surveyed the weather as I looked out the window and noticed the rain to get heavier and the sky become darker and for some odd reason my stomach began to turn and I didn't feel well. After five minutes of failing to get the board to leave the ground with me remaining on it, Raith and Mea cross the road just in time to witness my pitiful endeavor. We spent most of the morning cruising on our boards and sitting, drinking various sodas we had brought, and chatting.
