STEP 1
Patient should be stand in front of a basin partially filled with cool water
And towel should be covered the edge of the basin.
STEP 2:
Dentures should be cleaned outside the mouth
STEP 3
Denture should be cleaned with soft brush and denture paste (soap)
 don’t use hot water, abrasive toothpaste,
bleaching material, hypochlorite
solutions.
Hypochlorite (Dentural) can corrode metal
Dilute acid (Denclen)
HouseHold bleaching
STEP 4
Brush the remaining teeth and massage gum & tongue to stimulate the circulation in mucosa
The patient should remove
dentures during sleeping and
store it in water. why??
Keep it in container

Conclusion:
High percentages of patients were satisfied with their fixed
prosthesis. The most important finding of this study was that majority
of patients showed a lack of knowledge regarding post fixed
prosthodontics instructions and the significance of maintenance of
fixed prosthesis using dental aids'. Of particular concern was the
majority of dentists did not pay attention to the post treatment
instructions concerning the maintenance of fixed prosthesis

 Teeth and dentures should be cleaned daily after each meal.
 Cleaning should be in safe place.
 Dentures should be kept outside mouth in water during sleeping.
 The remaining teeth should be brushed with toothpaste contains fluoride
 Always carry dentures in a container.

 If patient complaining from dry mouth advise him/her to drink plenty of water and
avoid mouthwashes ..
 Advise patient to eat a balanced diet to avoid deficiency in minerals and Vitamins.
 A smoker patient refer him to a smoking cessation clinic
 Patient should visit dentist immediately if he/she notice any abnormality in mouth.
 Patient should visit Dental clinic once a year for oral cancer screening.
