Their media orientation drops off significantly with older age groups that instead prioritize work-related network uses. Safaricom has invested in a fiber network called Digital City that will surpass competitors' fiber networks by 2018. Digital City fiber is ready to support high-speed internet and has expanded to more areas than competitors can. This positions Safaricom to stay ahead of increasing bandwidth demand.
