Delivering technical documentation to mobile devices (45 min)
Matt Sullivan gave a 45 minute presentation at STC14 on delivering technical communication to mobile. He discussed using structured formats like XML, DITA and DocBook to enable content reuse, localization, and mobile accessibility. FrameMaker and RoboHelp were presented as tools that can be used together based on project needs - FrameMaker for medical devices needing rich media and reuse, and RoboHelp for online help and multi-channel delivery. The presentation emphasized starting with user needs and choosing tools to meet responsive output, rich media handling, intuitive authoring and the ability to brand outputs for mobile.
