This document provides a summary of the Urban Design Compendium 2, which aims to help deliver high quality urban design. It discusses how urban design has gained increasing importance over the past decade due to factors such as government support for well-designed, sustainable places. Two case studies are presented that exemplify good urban design principles - Brunswick Town in Hove, which demonstrates the long-term benefits of coordinated design and management, and Greenwich Millennium Village in London, which achieved high sustainability and design standards in its development.
