2. 1. Unlock the Storage Cart with the
key found in office supply bag in
the small manila envelope.
2. Remove and compare Storage Cart green
security seal number to pre-recorded number
on iVotronic Security Certificate (Form
1911-B). Put cut seal in VLM bag.
iVotronic Setup
Note: The 1st iVotronic
to be taken from the cart
has been specifically
programmed for ADA
voting. This iVo will be
marked with a green
label and will need to be
set up so that the access
route to the iVo is at least
36 inches wide and there
is a 60 inch diameter
clearance behind the unit.
3. 3. Open the bars and lower the ramps. 4. Remove the iVotronics from storage cart.

force legs open. The legs will resist further opening
once they are fully opened.
6. 9. Lean the iVotronic forward so that it rests
on the legs.
10. Lift iVotronic up and away from you to position it.
When correctly positioned, the unit snaps into place and

7. 11. Unwrap iVotronic’s power cord and plug
it into a wall receptacle or a supplied power
cord.
Make sure power strip is turned on and wall
receptacle has power.
You may connect power cords from one machine to
the next (AKA “Daisy Chain”), or plug each one into
a receptacle separately.
Look down at power strip on the back of the
iVotronic to verify the red light is on. This confirms
you have power.
12. On Tuesday Morning, cut the RED seal on door
and open the two doors until they stop. Doors will
resist further opening once they are fully opened

Where to find content for iVotronic Security Certificate
At the close of
day, fill in columns
6, 7, and 8.
Arrange iVos by

helps organize iVos
and avoid skipping
machines when you
set up and close.

Breakout Session:
• Questions?
• Setting up Machines and Opening
17. It’s Now 6:30 a.m.
• Voters may be waiting to vote.
• iVos should be ready for voting.
You must have at least one iVo
ready for voting.
18. During Election Day Use ALL Machines
• Vary iVo machine usage all day. This balances usage of paper rolls.
19. IF ZERO TAPE HAS NOT BEEN
RUN:
• Mid-morning - Run Zero Tape
• Check the Auxiliary Printer to see if at least
2/3 of the paper roll is left.
• Rover or VLM will run zero tape to ensure
all iVos were opened and will place in the
Red Team ONE PEB bag.
20. Printing a Zero Tape
1. Use the Yellow PEB that was
used to open the iVos.
2. Enter the Terminal Menu by
holding the Vote Button and
inserting the Yellow Master
PEB.
3. Select “Election Services”
option.
21. Printing a Zero Tape
4. a) Enter password.
b) Select “Print Polling Location
Zero Tape” option.
23. Printing a Zero Tape
Notes:
• Do not connect the
auxiliary printer to the iVo
until you reach the “Print”
“Cancel” Screen.
• Repeat for each Yellow
Master PEB.
• Return Yellow Master PEB
and Zero Tapes to VLM.
24. The following THREE VIDEOS will illustrate an iVo:
1. that is working properly
2. one that is jamming
3. clearing a jam
REMEMBER TO LISTEN AND LOOK AS YOU WATCH THESE ILLUSTRATIONS. On the 2ND slide WATCH if the paper
is advancing and LISTEN for the different sounds. The 3RD slide shows what happens to the REAL TIME AUDIT
LOG (RTAL) when there is a JAM.
As the Day Progresses……
• Check Public Count to see if any iVos need their RTAL Paper changed (100 or more
voters change the tape).
• Make mental note of any iVo you think may need to be watched for jams. Tell poll
workers to LISTEN and WATCH for unusual sounds coming from the iVo.
28. Replacing Paper Rolls in iVos
• Remove the old roll by placing
your thumbs on the top of the roll
arms.
• Remove the seal and unlock the
RTAL (Real Time Audit Log) using
the smaller key on the ring with
the cart key. (Save the used seal to
put on VVPAT roll after it is
removed). Release RTAL by pulling
on the “Pull to Release” Bar.
29. Replacing Paper Rolls in iVos
• Make sure the blank feed roll gear is on the right side so it matches
the drive gear.
• Lift paper release switch on the back left of the paper roll to permit the
paper to be easily inserted into the drive roll. When paper is inserted
through the roll, engage the paper release switch and press the rapid
advance lever on the left side of the paper roll.
• Run your finger nail over the paper to see evidence it is going to print on
the proper side. If there is not a dark line made by swiping your finger
nail, the paper needs to be installed on the opposite side.
30. Replacing Paper Rolls in iVos
• See that the paper roll is taut by pressing the slow
advance button on the upper right of the paper roll
holder.
• Record the old and new blue tamper tape on the
back of the “Tracking Cancel Ballot” forms.
Now, let’s watch a video on replacing a paper roll
32. • Close the doors promptly at 7:30 PM. All voters who are in line by 7:30 P.M. to
vote are permitted to cast a ballot.
• RED PEB is inserted in an iVotronic which has reached the Official Closing Time
of 7:30 P.M., the Close Option Menu will display. Select “Exit This Menu” each
time to start a ballot for the voter.
• When closing, you will have one iVotronic Security Certificate (Form 1911-B) for
each Yellow Master PEB.
• Print one results tape set for each of the Yellow Master PEBs. Add together the
pollng location public counts from each tape when completing your balancing.
• DO NOT INSERT OR REMOVE THE YELLOW PEB UNLESS INSTRUCTED.
CLOSING PROCEDURES
33. Closing the Machines
• Use only PEBs. Remember to match the colored
dot ( ) on the PEB to dots on the iVos at multiple precinct
locations.
• Set up portable printer. (DO NOT PLUG IN until instructed)
• Insert PEB into first machine you opened in
morning.
34. MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO CLOSE iVOs
Time can be cut by 70% by splitting iVos into groups, closing simultaneously with a bi-partisan team, and having
a results tape for each group. This would be for larger locations and be based on the colored dots. Each group
will have its own printer. The illustration below shows 3 groups of 6 iVos.
( ) ( ) ( )
(**NOTE** Actual number of teams could vary depending on total number of iVos)
35. Bi-partisan team ONE - Sally and John
Bi-partisan team THREE - Fred and JoeBi-partisan team TWO - Jane and Mark
MOST EFFICIENT WAY
TO CLOSE iVOs (cont.)
• 3 Bi-Partisan Teams closing
