informationaboutthe settingof the film.The impactof thisshotpositonsthe audiencetobecome
aware where the filmtakesplace.
-The titlesinthe filmopeningwere placedcentral of the frame.Thisoverlapsthe actionthatis
happeninginthe opening.Inoticedthatthe titlesappearedconsistentlythroughoutthe film
opening.Above all,there wastwotypesof fontsused;white bookmanoldstyle andacapitalized
blackfontwitha white border.
-Inthe filmopeningavarietyof shotswere usedtointroduce the maincharacter,for instance mid
shotswere includedanumberof times.Thisenforcesthe audience tobecome aware of the main
character by heractionsand appearance.Also,cameramovementswere usedtoshow the

createdan immediate impactontothe audience.Thispositionedthe audience toanalyse areaswere
there wouldbe still graphicsandareaswhere there wasfluentmovementof the characters.
-The titlesinthe filmopeningwere placedindifferentareasof the frame.Forinstance some would
be placedat the bottom rightand soonafterthe nexttitle wouldbe placedinthe topleftof the
frame.I identifiedthatthe titlesappearedconsistentlythroughoutthe filmopeningintimingwith
the backgroundmusic.In addition,the same fontwasusedduringthe filmopening;low case white
font.
-Minimal camerashotswere used.Thisconsistedof few midshotsandlongshotsof a blackedout
female figure.The outcome of notrevealingthe appearanceof the characterenhanceditssuspense
and mystery.Thispositionsthe audiencetofeel intriguedastowhoisin the scene duringthe
opening.
-The musicinthe filmopeningremainedinthe same pace andtune.I noticedthatthe musicwas
veryrepetitiveandquite slow.Thisslowlyintroducesthe viewertothe filmwithoutgivingtomuch
tensionfromthe beginning.
Third deconstruction:Lord of war
Lord of war isa black comedythriller.Throughoutthe filmopeningIidentified:
-That the filmopeningwasverycomplex consistingawide range of camerashotsand movements.
For instance duringthe filmopeningthe vieweriswitnessingthe surroundingsandactionsinthe
scene froma ‘bullet’perspective.The audience are positionedthroughdifferentstages;the making
of the bullet,transportationandwhenthe bulletisfiredthroughagun.Also,at the verybeginningof

-The titlesinthe filmopeningconsistentlyappearedinthe frame,there wasone type of fontused;
small lowercase white font.Moreover,the positioningof these titleswere mainlyinthe cornersof
the frame,thisallowsthe actioninthe openingtonot be disturbedoroverpoweredbythe title
sequence.
-Throughoutthe whole filmopeningthe same tune wasused.Thisconsistedof anupbeatsonganda
highpitched,repetitivesoundthatwasconsistentlyplayed.This positionsthe audiencetofeel very
laidback.
