The missionaries will be moving back to Colombia in June after fulfilling residency requirements in Canada. They are raising support for their ministry work in Colombia, which includes training missionaries, equipping churches, and working with children and youth. They have launched a campaign called "64/40" to gain 64 new $40 per month sponsors by their move to reach their 75% budget requirement. They provide updates on upcoming ministry plans in Bogota and two other Colombian communities.

Dear Friends,
The time has come! After 3 years of working from Canada,
travelling constantly to fulfill our ministry commitments, it
is time to move back to Colombia. As of October Patty has
fulfilled her residency requirement, her application for
Canadian Citizenship has been sent off and now we are
looking at next June as our departure date.
Seven months away from moving back to
Bogota; we are very excited and somewhat
nervous! Moving from one country to another is
a huge task, but first we have a different challenge.

touches to partner with us monthly.
Partnering with us is kind of like
sponsoring some REALLY BIG
KIDS! It helps to sustain our
family, train new Colombian
missionaries to reach the nations and it helps us share the
love of Jesus with tens of thousands of people each year.
Our challenge right now is a program we call 64/40, raising
up 64 new sponsors who will partner with us at $40 a month
– and that is our petition to you. Would you pray about

Our sending agency requires us to have at least 75% of our
budget raised (we are at 50%) before we return to the field.

2. Coming Up!
Prayer Points
We have been visiting a LOT of churches to promote
Colombia as an outreach destination. So we are VERY
excited with the interest that several churches have expressed
in joining us. Darren will be in Colombia much of January
preparing for teams that will be arrive throughout 2014.
- It has been almost a year since Darren’s sister Brenda was
diagnosed with terminal cancer and given a prognosis of 6 12 months. She continues to do far better than can be
humanly explained. We covet your continued prayers.
Aside from Bogota, we will be focussing on the communities
of Villeta (see Sept. newsletter) and Chiquinquira this year.
- For Patty’s Mother Esperanza who faces rather delicate
surgery for a herniated bladder some time in the New Year.
- For James and Darien as they adjust to the idea of moving
back to Colombia.

Celebrate Christmas!
Located 115 km north of Bogota, Chiquinquira is a town of
approx 52,000 and is considered to be the religious capital
of Colombia. It is home to the Basilica which houses the
image of the Virgin de Chiquinquira, the patroness saint of
Colombia. The town is a major point of religious pilgrimage.
Despite the immense stronghold of religious idolatry in the
area, the Evangelical church is making inroads into the
community with several small to medium size congregations.
Our work here began this past summer with an outreach team
that was able to minister in area schools and children’s
ministries. As part of our time in Chiquinquira we identified
two area churches that need a hand up to build and/or
renovate their facilities to better serve the community.
Our goal is to build relationships with area churches,
strengthen them and open doors with the “Gringo Factor.”
Our intention is to use that influence to break strongholds
and model outreach techniques – so that local churches can
then follow us into previously closed places of ministry.
We want to show God’s love
to some 2500 needy children
in Bogota and throughout
Colombia.
