2. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN STARS DIE?Stars make energy by converting hydrogen into helium. When the hydrogen is used up they then use any other energy. Stars die when they exhaust these vast supplies of nuclear energy.
3. WAYS IN WHICH A STAR CAN DIE. 1- SMALL STARS: They cool and become white dwarfs.
4. LARGE STARS: If a starisbigenough and itforms a red giant , thenthere are twowaysit can die. 1- Theouterlayercools and dissipatesaway, living thecore. Thisiscalled NEUTRON STAR and itisextremely dense. 2- Ifthe red giantisbigenough, thenitexplodes.Thisiscalled SUPERNOVA.

6. A SUPERNOVA: It is a gigantic explosion. It finishes off a supergiant star
9. HOW OLD ARE THE STARS? Stars are dying and being born all the time. Big bright stars live for only ten millions years. Medium-sized stars like sun live for 10 billion years .
