Security plays a key role in disaster and humanitarian responses by protecting response teams and enabling effective relief operations. Security personnel work to assess risks, evacuate people to safe areas, and enhance communication during responses. Their roles aim to maximize safety. However, security concerns like violence, theft and transportation accidents can limit response and recovery efforts by restricting the movement of aid workers and preventing immediate assistance from reaching victims. To address this, security aims to create awareness, understand local environments, and establish protocols to enhance protection of response teams working in insecure areas.
