1. DAY 2(WHAT FUN!!)

2. The morning was still…River Sharavathi was quite.. and we
brought the ripples in the water while waiting for a boat to
start our new journey along the river …..

3. We felt the boat ride was peaceful and
the river calms the body and soul
On our way to Nagarbasti ..The beginning of the river
journey..

4. Early morning The boat ride to Nagarbasti -
was soulful experience ...

5. We walked on the river bed.. its amazing to know that when we return- this
river bed will be flowing with water ..Simple understanding and real
experience of High tide and low tide which we never under stood in the
geography class-

6. We left Sharavathi behind for a while .. massive trees.. dry leaves
carpet and a pathway led us to a new era of forgotten glory

7. Amazing suspended bridge took us again into deep jungle ..

8. Before exploring the ruins ..in the historical island-gersoppe –the peeper
Queen-Channa bairaa devi’s land

about treasure hunters and Pepper Queen..

11. We are back Sharavathi..our journey on the river continued ..

12. Weather and the sun rise/set
The weather was pleasant but it can
get hot.
There is always breeze .
The sun is like our companion, in
the afternoon it heats up the entire
area.He is the most beautiful person
to watch when he is rising and
setting ..

13. What we felt!
• We felt that the river was clean and serene.
• The technology of the bridge was
unimaginable.
• We felt that the stories were very captivating .
• We were assuming that a war had taken
place, therefore the ruins and many artifacts
were missing and looted.
• The monuments are very well preserved and
care is still being taken so they remain.

15. LOCAL PEOPLE
• The locals are very friendly and easy to mingle with
• They care for fellow human beings
• They aspire the city life ( for various reasons thinking that it will make them happy )
• The young generation youth does not want to do agriculture any more (BIGGEST ISSUE !!)
• Urďanization is happening so rapidly due to teĐhnology ….
• Labour has become hard to find for them
• They are not STINGY or MONEY minded therefore the concept of sharing is strong.

16. FO0D
The food in this area is very unique .
• There is a large variety of food .
• The idea of reviving the old cooking methods is a brilliant
idea because the rich flavours and spices of our state is
being brought back
• FOOD is a very important part of life and our trip im sure
some of us would come back just for the DELICIOUS food
.
• The food of this area has also proved to me that
the food does not improve because of technology

17. The tribe----
• The tribal culture is almost disappeared due to
development of machines , plastics , mobiles , televisions
and gloďalization …They killed the diversity of india
• Though tribes may not have any degrees from universities
you will be amazed to see how much they know about our
epics/litrature,art, craft, history and geography even
without going to school.
• I strongly believe that the real education /learning is
where the locals can relate to it. Each region should have its
own localized curriculum

18. MY WISH/HOPE
• I hope that the river remains pure ( NO RESORTS).
• I wish that the tribals stop becoming modernized
by the following :- wearing their own clothes and jewelry
• Not upgrading to mobile phones
• Not depending on television sets for their
entertainment
I wish they continue their drawing , weaving, dancing
And singing
