A beginning capture of a dialogue between a co-creator and myself for the new Strange Times: Strange Birds Installation at Crysallides House, Waterloo, Ontario.

CD: Thinking of a image for the beginning of the videos, banner, poster, installation sign.

3. CD: is this inspiring to you?
Which: It looks really scary!
CD: Ohhhh Wow.
So much of what I do Looks scary when i think its so beautiful! lol

4. CD: Guessing this is Terrifying! Hehe
Which: it's not that it's not beautiful, but it is
scary. Foreboding.
I'd like to stay with the more kitchy, close-up,
focus on the personalities of the birds, a little
strange, a little silly, make people comfortable
to SQUAWK with us - more personal, less
distant

5. Lighter, but Weak.

6. WHICH: Can we work with the strange birds that are already
made, their images, or new images of them?
Stay with the work we're doing to represent the work we're
doing?
in-process is another theme,
partially finished, dripping wax, found materials
"scattered" around an almost-done,
those themes would evoke the work maybe.

7. CD: I want to show the unseen.
the real
CD: ha
can we show the unreal, the unseen... in the scattered
and found
Which: the real doesn't have to be distant and foreboding
to me real is visceral, close, personal
CD: 'Im afraid as we do this aloud Im going to look
like an idiot.,
Which: I… We…?
Which: So?

8. Which: Do we really think we can hide our silly, not-finished,
dumbness, learning?
Is that serving, to only show ourselves how we want to be seen?
Is there a road that doesn't show us shitting on the toilet but still gives
people a sense that process is important and messy, people are
imperfect and amazing?
CD: in the search for branding
Which: I am NOT searching for branding!!! not anymore!
CD: in the search for belonging... in the search for being received.

9. WHICH: Branding demeans the true spirit. let the "brand" be what emerges, stick with what
matters?
for me, not those things either. not anymore.
CD: Squawk!

10. WHICH: Just being, what we are, aloud,
creating what we create in honour of what is,
what calls
Not in relation to the audience,
not for them,
but aloud for access for those who need it,
access not branding,
access not delivery

11. WHICH:
~ like nature presents beauty - it's
noticed or not, but it's creation
and it's there for noticing, it
matters even if no one sees it
