Professional Experience
2014 -2015
I moved to Cozumel Mexico, to work at "Blue Magic Scuba" dive center. I was managing my
own schedule, teaching OW/ AOW, DSD’s, Specialties and helping in IDC’s, diving both from
shore and boat in calm/current conditions, having an average of 5-7 students in a group.
Currently I’m a PADI IDC Stuff Instructor (#341489) and SSI Advanced Open Water Instructor
(#52176) with 2500+ dives and an Instructor in eight specialties with 400 certifications.
2007- 2008
I qualified as a Dive Con with SSI in 2007 and secured a position with “Marina Divers” diving
center, Eilat (Red sea) Israel. Responsibilities included; sales, reception, tank filing and
providing gear. During that time, I began to lead guided dives and refresher dives when
needed. All dives were from shore reaching a max depth of 30m, in very good conditions all
year long.
2. 2009-2012 I served in the IDF combat service as a soldier, diver and commander. Here I
attained the rank of First Sergeant as squad commander in the Navy Training Base.
My duties included:
• Management and operation of logistics course.
• Coordination between the various units and army.
• Command of 9 officers and 120 soldiers over the role.
• Leading in a combat situation in varying sea conditions.
In the role, I was required to demonstrate strong management, multi-tasking, and
prioritization skills under pressure. Working independently and as part of a team was
critical, as was the ability to be accountable for my actions. Diving in this role involved
salvage and boat cleaning,
2010-2011
During my service at the Israeli navy, I gained a weekend role as a Dive Con at “Octopus Dive
Center” Tel Aviv (Mediterranean Sea) Israel. As a small center the team took turns in all
functions. I guided dives, did refresher dives and provided customers with gear and tanks. I was
required to do multiple tasks, working long hours. As a busy dive center we often did 4 dives
per day which were mostly from a boat and some from shore. Sea conditions ranged from cold
rough seas (16-18 degrees) in the winter to warm calm (29-30 degrees) in the summer.
2012-2013
I finished my military service in the middle of 2012 and went back to work at “Marina Divers”.
This time, I dedicated to working full-time in the water, leading guided dives, refresher dives,
introduction dives and helping with open water courses. My work there was intense, working
long hours, 7 days a week. When doing introductory dives we could average 5-8 dives a day
(sometimes even 9-11 dives a day). I also participated in some underwater work that included;
cleaning the bottom of a submarine and lifting various bodies from the sea floor.
2013 - 2014
At the beginning of 2013, I qualified as an Open Water Instructor and moved to New Zealand to
work as a Tertiary Education Diving Tutor at “The Dive School”, Auckland, New Zealand.
This school uses diving as a vehicle to re-integrate people from troubled backgrounds with
education and employment.
My role involved;
• Teaching SSI open water courses and specialty courses
• Integrating NZ Day skipper and First aid and Oxygen provision courses into the
curriculum
• Managing NZQA unit standards and maintaining quality paperwork
• Mentoring the students on study skills, acceptable behaviors and future pathways
• Equipment care and maintenance
• Transportation of students to and from course
