DAPP envisions a society in which communities are self sustainable and have improved quality of life.
To work with communities in Malawi by promoting social and economic development through programs related to health, education training, food security, fundraising and environment.
ADPP Mozambique is an organization that has been operating since 1982 and implements development projects covering all regions of the country. The organization employs more than 2,200 employees and benefits more
than 2 million people annually. ADPP programs have focus on education, HIV/AIDS, community development, agriculture and food security. In agriculture, ADPP has been investing in the development and implementation of the Farmers Clubs Program. This effort helped to reduce hunger and malnutrition, extend substantially an increase of agricultural productivity and farm yield for more than 100,000 people.
The year 2013 has seen the opening of the 4th DAPP Teacher Training College, situated in the Northern Region, thanks to the funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Finland, UFF Finland and UK aid via DFID. This year there was also a significant improvement of the teacher training program with the addition of a four (4) month study travel by bus to various countries in the region – classrooms on wheels. Upon graduation each will indeed be “Another kind of teacher”.
A significant expansion of the DAPP Mikolongwe Vocational school took place in 2013 in terms of both infrastructure and programmings. New health and community programs have started – with focus on nutrition, water and sanitation, thanks to a number of new partnerships with Clinton Health Access Initiatives, and UNICEF. We have been reaching directly or indirectly more than one million people from all corners of the country through our life changing DAPP projects.

ADPP Mozambique, a Stop TB Partner, is undertaking active TB case finding covering a population of 214,000 mineworkers, ex-mineworkers, their family members and their communities with the aim of reducing the TB burden in Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Zambia.
The forum was a good opportunity to share the experience of Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo, Humana Portugal and its local partner ADPP-Guinea Bissau in the project 'Renewable energy for rural development in Bissora-Oio', which was completed at the end of last year and funded by the European Union.
DAPP Zambia, a member of Humana People to People, is currently operating a rural small scale farmers program in Pemba district, Southern province of Zambia. The program response focuses on improving the farmers’ resilience regarding effects of climate change, improving livelihood and generation of income for the actively involved small scale farmers. It is expected to contribute, in the long term, to building the resilience of the most vulnerable rural populations in the region.

organised a field day under the theme “Conservation
Agriculture - One of the
technology in attaining food security”.
According to the Chief Extension Officer for
Machinga ADD MrKabuluzi,saidworkinghandinhand
with DAPP has proved to be a successful development
through the usage of multiplication of practices by the
training of many farmers through lead farmers project.
“As government we will encourage training and
practice to farmers through conservation agriculture
especially here in Machinga since rain is always ina
dequate. We strive to work hand in hand with
DAPPto reach out to more by the use available media
resourceslikeradioandmobiletrainingcentres”.Hesaid.
Among the participants were representatives from
World Vision Malawi, Concern Universal, District
Agriculture Development officer (DADO), AEDC,
Traditional Authority Kawinga, representative of
Chitedze Research Station and
other DAPP Malawi officials.
One of the fields which was inspected was that of
an adopter who said she has seen a huge difference
with the use of modern conservation farming, after
receiving the seeds, she applied first fertlizer after 14
days and second one after 21 days as instructed by the
DAPP’s field officers. To her suprise, the maize field
has produced more yields than the expected outcome.
The field day was organised by DAPP Malawi in
liason with Machinga Rural Development Program
(R.D.P) and it took place in Traditional Authority
Kawinga,GroupVillageHeadmanChiongainKalingounder
NanyumbuExtensionPlanningArea(E.P.A)Mikokosection.
One of the farmers said she copied from what
the other farmers were doing and managed
to do all the necessary practices in her garden
although she was not targeted by the project.
