Bucharest, our capital.
Romania is divided in 6 historical
regions, Moldavia and Dobroudja in
the East, Valachia and Oltenia in the
south, Banat and Crisana in the
west, Maramures and Bucovina in
the north and Transilvania in the
Centre.
Geography
We can say that our country offer
very different beautiful landscapes.

Carpathians,
the Danube
and the Black
Sea are three
important
characteristics
of our relief.

The famous
monasteries of
Bucovina (the five
wonders of Moldavia
are : Humor (1530),
Moldovita (1532),
Arbore (1503 - 1541),
Voronet (1488-1547)
and Sucevita (1582-
1592) are unique too in
Europe.
The Danube Delta is unique in Europe,
through its landscapes, flora and fauna. It is
declared biosphere reserve by UNESCO.

  • 4. Romania – general presentation Romania is a South-Est European country. Romania is considered a Latinity island in a Slavian Ocean.
  • 5. Geography But today there are 41 counties, called “judete” and the district of Bucharest, our capital. Romania is divided in 6 historical regions, Moldavia and Dobroudja in the East, Valachia and Oltenia in the south, Banat and Crisana in the west, Maramures and Bucovina in the north and Transilvania in the Centre.
  • 6. Geography We can say that our country offer very different beautiful landscapes. The Carpathians, the Danube and the Black Sea are three important characteristics of our relief.

Geography The famous monasteries of Bucovina (the five wonders of Moldavia are : Humor (1530), Moldovita (1532), Arbore (1503 - 1541), Voronet (1488-1547) and Sucevita (1582- 1592) are unique too in Europe. The Danube Delta is unique in Europe, through its landscapes, flora and fauna. It is declared biosphere reserve by UNESCO.
