1. Last night we completed filming our dance section for our video. This was
very beneficial for us as we can now move on to planning and filming the
rest of our shoots.
The filming went very well we managed to gets shots in a variety of
positions and lighting.
For example we started off having a single spotlight in the middle of the
room and got Emma to do elongated movements, to match the pace of
the song.
When it came to the bigger chorus we changed the lighting to strobe lights
to make it feel like a much more ‘dance’ like feel. Emma then did much
bigger dance moves like leaps and high kicks to make it much more
dramatic.
During the whole of the filming we managed to get long shots, close ups
of Emma’s feet, high angles, low angles and mid shots.
Overall the shoot was very successful.
2. This is an example of the close up we got of
Emma’s feet. Lauren filmed Emma doing the
dance sequence but just focusing on her
feet, I think this looked really effective as it
will bring a new dimension to the filming.
Here is an example of Emma
doing elongated movements to
match pace with the slower
section of the song. This again
looks effective with the shadow
included in the shot.
This is an example of the type
of lighting we used. I think this
also looked effective as it made
the atmosphere look quite
mysterious as it wasn’t just
plain.
This long shot angle we got also looks very
effective as you can see the full extent of
Emma’s movements. The lighting is slightly
brighter on this shot again matching with the
feel of the song at that point.
3. This again helps to show what
attitude was portrayed
throughout the filming
matching with the lyrics ‘Tell
me that you want me’
We All took certain roles within the filming of the
dance sequence.
• Lauren was filming, she made sure that we had a
variety of angles to work with, such as close ups and
high angles ect. She even went up onto the balcony
section to get a better angle on one scene.
• Hollie also did filming but also a bit of lighting as
well. Hollie took these photos to show the different
types of shots we got and the atmosphere that we
created.
• I took the role at first on the lights and practiced
slowly increasing the strobe lighting to match pace
with the music. I also did filming and did a low angle
shot of Emma during her slow section.
This is an action shot of
Emma spinning. We also did
close up of her feet also
whilst she was doing the
spin.
