INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK edged higher as blue-chips rose on hopes that upcoming earnings and auto sales will show the economy remains on the mend, while the central bank's decision to keep interest rate unchanged had little impact.
Further, Muthoot Finance Ltd has declared its first Interim Dividend for the year 2014-15 at the rate of Rs. 4 per equity share.
ABB India Ltd, a subsidiary of Swiss engineering group ABB, said it has won a Rs 172-crore order from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd.

Asian stock market dropped as a crackdown on pro- democracy protesters in the city outweighed solid gains in the US market.
European stocks were mostly higher, as investors eyed the release of euro zone inflation and unemployment data later in the day, as well as the European Central Bank's monthly policy meeting on Thursday.
U.S. stocks market came off earlier lows after expectations that data due for release later this week will be positive offset bearish pressures from Hong Kong unrest and a soft housing report.
