This document provides an installation manual for outdoor units. It includes examples of refrigerant piping connections using REFNET joints and headers. It provides tables to select the proper REFNET joints and headers based on outdoor unit capacity and total indoor unit capacity. It also provides guidance on pipe sizing and length between units. The document gives an example calculation for additional refrigerant required for a system using REFNET joints and headers. It provides notes on allowable pipe lengths and increasing pipe sizes if certain length thresholds are exceeded.

How to select the REFNET joint
• When using REFNET joint at the first branch counted from the outdoor unit side.
Choose from the following table in accordance with the outdoor unit capacity type.
(Example: REFNET joint A)
Temper grade and wall thickness for pipes.
(Temper grade, O type and 1/2H type indicate the material types specified in JIS
H 3300.)
Piping between refrigerant branch kits
• Choose from the following table in accordance with the total capacity index of
all the indoor units connected below this.
• Do not let the connection piping exceed the main refrigerant piping size.
