2. What is Research and Innovation?
Research is defined as process of collecting and analysing the
information to increase our understanding over a particular issue.
It consists of 3 parts
Pose a question
Collect data to answer the question
Present answer to the question
Innovation is defined as process of translating an idea or
invention into a good service that creates values for which customers
pray.
Research and innovation contribute directly to our level of
prosperity and the well- being of individuals and society in general.
Research and innovation should also stimulate the free movement
of persons and ideas.
The role of innovation for growth is
strengthened by advances in new
technologies, and a greater focus on
knowledge creation and use ...
3. Why is INDIA lagging in research and innovation?
Voicing disappointment over Indian universities failing to figure among top
institutes globally President Pranab Mukharjee has stressed on need to be
done a lot to expand research and innovation activities on India was still
lagging behind many other countries like China.
The president who attributed India’s “remarkable resilience” in
handling economic meltdown. Partly of its strong foundation in its
education sector ,said the country must raise the standards of higher
education befitting its growing economic power status.
Despite India having better scientific research institutions ,R&D and
innovation capabilities are lower than other BRICS countries according to
economic survey .India is lagging behind other countries poorly in areas of
market knowledge , technology and creativity ,human resources,
institutional support , research and infrastructure and business
sophistication.
India is very low and poor in taking patent rights . Indian R&D spend
stands at approximately 1% of its trillion dollar GDP.
“There is potential but the momentum needs to be sustained and not left
hanging “.
4. Context in methods of education
INDIA
Indian educational institutes are
not implementing the innovative
education techniques
That is we follow conventional old
day system learning and knowing
The students in India don’t
implement practical methods to
know about a thing and don’t
even have chances to do that
Very fewer Indian institutes have
various clubs for social service ,
knowledge development etc.
OTHERS
Educational institutes of other
countries implement present day
learning techniques
The students there will be
habituated towards innovative
thinking
The institutes have many ways of
practical approach towards
different problems
Almost every institute outside
India have many types of clubs for
bringing social awareness among
students
“NO INDIAN INSTITUE IS RANKED AMONG TOP HUNDRED INSTITUES OF
WORLD”
5. People responsible for this :The main reason for India lagging behind
other countries in this sector lies with the ignorance of some officials unable
to know about the importance of innovativeness
Parents in our country doesn’t have such a broad minded thinking for
developing their children’s learning process towards innovativeness and
practical research
6. Six pillars of growth
‘Hard’ infrastructure
and long-term
investment
Banking for the real
economy
A new industrial
strategy
The knowledge
economy: ‘soft’
infrastructure
Being open for
business
Supply side reform.
India needs to be developed in industrial
sector too for developing research and
innovative techniques
Because most of research opportunities lies
in industrial sector itself
INDUSTRIAL GROWTH IMPACT
7. Public role in developing methods of research and innovation
Public has a very significant role in development of country
and its scope in development and research
Public sector shapes the environment , generates technologies
, innovates in services.
A strategic approach to procurement could target whole
market areas , that are important for economy and ripe for
innovation
“The role of innovation for growth is strengthened by
advances in new technologies, and a greater focus on
knowledge creation and use ...”
“Public funding of scientific research
should focus on excellence and relevance”
“The human brain is key towards promoting
innovativeness”
8. Some suggested measures that may improve the present
conditions
We have to convey the
message and let all our
citizens know about the
importance of research
and innovation in
development of our
country
Government officials
have to take the risk of
counselling people and
strive for implementing
methods of research and
practical methods
application
Students only have a major role in
changing the state of our country in
research and innovation fields
Students must be acquainted towards
innovative thinking and practical
approach towards a concept
All the universities in our country must
promote a way of education so that their
PhD's must be valuable
Industrial sector must be well
accomplished with all kinds of
development resources
Health sector must be well developed
in the way to enhance the country’s
health sector
9. Government’s role in enhancing research opportunities
Innovation and technological leadership
Public sector seed capital to leverage private investment
Skills
Supply chains
Public procurement
Our government must play a very crucial role in developing the
county’s state in research and innovation sectors
It has to develop great development opportunities through various
educational institutes and industrial sector
It has to improve helping conditions for students and train them in a
way to enhance their knowledge and innovativeness
Politicians have to recognize the importance of research and
innovation in country’s development
They should increase the percentage of GDP for this sector
The major part of improving India in this sector lies in the hands of
government officials followed by students and general public
10. Challenges that may occur while implementing our solutions
Most of the solutions proposed to improve the research state in the
country are much time taking
Changing the education system may not be an easy task
There may arise a problem for government for adjusting money in other
sectors if they increase in %ratio of contribution in GDP
Public service factors implementation is not a simpler task for the
educational institutions and other organizations
All the private sectors holding the factors of research and innovation must
be provided by government assistance
Proper infrastructure facilities development may be a longer and a process
included with high budget
“
11. “In the future we will not be able to compete
on the world stage with low labour costs or by
exploiting vast reserves of mineral resources.
We will have to compete with our brains and
with our science.”
CONCLUSION:
India to become an developed country this factor “research and innovation “ is a primary one
“INDIA IS OUR COUNTRY –LETS MAKE IT BETTER”
