The Nifty closed slightly lower while futures closed higher. Put options at 8500 saw decreased open interest while call options at 9000 saw increased interest. Most active stocks saw decreased open interest for March contracts except for Vedanta which increased. The India Volatility Index decreased and Nifty Put Call Ratio was below 1.

1. Nifty Options - OI Distribution
 The Nifty was down by 2.20 points or 0.02% to
settle at 8897.55.
 As per the OI data, the maximum OI outstanding
for Calls was at 9000 SP and that for Puts was at
8500 SP. Besides, for trading purpose, one could
Nifty with SL of 8850 for Target of 8950-9000,
 Nifty March 2017 futures closed at 8922.80 on
Friday at a premium of 25.25 points over spot
closing of 8897.55.
 Among Nifty calls, 9000 SP from the March month
expiry was the most active call with an addition of
2 Lakh open interests. Among Nifty puts, 8800 SP
from the March month expiry was the most
active put with a contraction of 60 thousand open
interests.
 Nifty March futures saw a contraction of 5.8 Lakh
units, taking the total outstanding open interest
to 2.15 Cr. units.
 Among most active underlying, Reliance
Industries witnessed a contraction of 6.4 Lakh
units of Open Interest in the March month futures
contract, followed by Hindalco Industries
witnessing a contraction of 25.3 Lakh units of
Open Interest in the March month contract,
Vedanta witnessed an addition of 7.1 Lakh units of
Open Interest in the March month contract.
 The top gainers on Nifty were Bharti Infratel up by
6.14%, Hindalco up by 4.96%, GAIL India up by
3.53%, Grasim Industries up by 2.66% and
Reliance Industries up by 1.73%.
 On the flip side, Bosch down by 2.08%, HDFC
down by 2.04%, Ambuja Cement down by 1.55%,
Asian Paints down by 1.34% and Eicher Motors
down by 1.20% were the top losers.

2. Derivative Strategy Pay- Off Chart
 The India Volatility Index decreased by 0.07% and
reached 13.35.
 The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) finally stood at 0.92 for
February month contract.
 The top five scrips with highest PCR on OI were Indo
Count Industries (1.24), UPL (1.01), NIIT Technologies
(1.00), Godrej Consumer Products (0.93) and
Hexaware Technologies (0.93).
