Cyctocele is medical surgical condition in a women's urinary bladder bulges into her vagina
It's also known as prolapse bladder,fallen bladder or on anterior vaginal prolapse
It occurs when the supportive tissue between a women's bladder and vaginal wall weakness and stretches allowing the bladder to bulge into the vagina

Cystocele is a medical conditionin which a women’s
urinary bladder bulges into her vagina .
It is also known as prolapse bladder ,fallen bladder
or on anterior vaginal prolapse
Its occurs when the ligaments that hold your bladder
in position and the tissue between the vagina and
bladder weaken or stretch, allowing the bladder to
bulge into the vagina.

7. GRADES OF CYSTOCELE
• Grade 1:
[mild] the bladder droops only a short way into the vagina.
• Grade 2:
[more severe] the bladder has sunk into the vagina for enough
to reach the oppening of the vagina.

[most advanced]the bladder bulges out through the opening
of the vagina.

• Constipation
• Repeated straining during bowel movement
• Previous pelvic surgery
• Straining muscles during child birth
• Weak muscles around the vagina [due to lack of estrogen after
menopause]
13. SYMPTOMS OF CYSTOCELE
1. Stress incontinence

3. Leakage of urine
4. Constipation
5. Inability to completely empty the bladder
6. Feeling of fullness
7. Aching and feeling pressure in the lower belly or pelvis

15. DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION
1) Physical examination
2) Cystourethrogram:
[ also called voiding cystogram] this is an x-
ray of the bladder taken while the women is urinating and with
the bladder and urethra filled with contrast dye.

16. MANAGEMENT
• There is a no treatment for mild cystocele
• Surgery only for the serious cystocele
• Mild and moderate degree of cystocele are often greatly
helped by EXERCISE and PHYSIOTHERAPY.
• Activity changes
• Kegel exercise
17. • Kegel exercise : regular,daily exercise of the pelvic muscles to
make them stronger
18. • Pessary : this is a device placed in the vagina to hold the
bladder in place.
• Surgery : may be used to move the bladder back into more
normal position
• Doctor may recommend using ESTROGEN usually a vaginal
cream ,pill or ring .
