Working with the criminal justice division I undertook the following duties:
• Developing user friendly module material for online teaching
• Dealing with student problems and issues with the online portal and by telephone
• Presentations to students about the blended learning programme
• Conference presentation (Ed-Media 2007, Vancouver)
• Negotiating deadlines with academic staff to prepare and design teaching materials for
the online portal
• Attending several training sessions to help me progress my knowledge in specialized
fields, e.g. POD casting, Blogs and Wikis training.
• Amending video and audio lectures using Final Cut Pro along with Sony Sound Forge,
as well as creating quizzes, questionnaires and interactive games.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
My studies have trained my sense of critical acumen and logical insight, such that I am
adept at analyzing situations and problem solving. I am computer literate with many
operating systems (MacOS and Windows 95, 98, 2000, and XP), and I am well versed in
using the whole Microsoft Office suite. I am trained in web design (basic HTML coding,
ASP.NET and Macromedia Director), as well as in hardware and software installation,
system configuration, networking and IT support.
I have been extensively trained in techniques of user-centred design and usability
evaluation. My invaluable experience in a professional environment, coupled with my
work as a student has taught me the importance of flexibility and arbitration; along with
working to deadlines whilst under the pressures of budget restrictions, time schedules and
client demands. Through degree level and professional projects, I have been exposed to
many situations where being a team player and where successfully disseminating
research findings through presentations were key elements to a project, and through this I
have gained excellent interpersonal communication skills.
