Further classifications covered are by locomotive system including electric, diesel, and gas locomotives. Additional classifications mentioned are by track types such as double headed rails, bull headed rails, and flat headed rails as well as by sleeper including wooden, metal, and concrete sleepers.

• What is Railway Transportation?
Railway Transportation: This is a means of conveyance of
passengers and goods by way of wheeled vehicles running on rail
track, known as a railway or railroad. Railway transportation can be
classified into categories and types.
