To drive through the delivery of new procurement market
commitments, for commodity spend and supplier development as laid
down by both the Procurement Directors of Materials & Turbines and
Finished Components in the FYC.
Provide a central point of expertise and knowledge, identifying and
capturing business opportunities for the assigned commodities in new
procurement markets. Deliver research and analysis, which develops
corporate knowledge for the commodities including capability
benchmarking, supplier finances, competitor activity, manufacturing
and product technology.
Work with Commodity Leaders and buyers to develop and implement
robust sourcing strategies in new procurement markets, ensuring that
the supply base has the capability and capacity to meet all current and
future business requirements, both global and regional.
Develop and manage supplier relationships in the interests of Rolls
Royce, including the recommendation of suppliers for selection,
development and deletion for the assigned commodity.
Work alongside the commodity leaders and buyers to new
procurement market sourcing decisions in accordance with RRQMS
(or equivalent quality system) and all stakeholder, customer,
governmental, environmental and regulatory requirements.
Prepare business cases for in support of sourcing/re-sourcing decisions
including substantive financial analysis and contract reviews, for
SRB’s, Procurement Council’s, CRB’s, GQPC4.53 buy-off Stage 1 &
2.
Identify and liase with key internal stakeholders i.e. Procurement
Directors, Project Directors/ executives, Logistics Directors, CAM’s,
commodity buyers, engineering, manufacturing to secure their input,
approval and development of the necessary project plans to resource
contributions and support the development of new procurement
market strategies.
Lead or support all negotiations for new procurement market
suppliers, review suppliers prices including annual price reductions,
use appropriate negotiation techniques, e-commerce, supplier
conditioning and contracting.
To work within IPT’s to lead the introduction of new or re-sourced
products (or services) into new procurement market suppliers,
ensuring that the cost, lead-time and required process capability are
achieved. Represent the supplier base in the Product Introduction
Processes.
As required support / facilitate commodity buyers, SDL’s and the
supplier in to resolve any issues for new procurement market suppliers
engaged in the ‘3 in 1’ Process.

Senior Value Engineer
Supporting the various purchasing groups achieve their cost
reduction targets by utilizing Value Improvement tools.
Due to past cultural experience, I was responsible for cascading Value
Improvement tools training, across the Strategic supply base in
China. This training was fundamental in ensuring that the R-R
Chinese supply base, at the time recognized the joint benefits
associated to the use CCWs and its associated gap analysis. This also
formed parts of the regions continued development.

The focus and intentions of the International Business Group was to
both increase its knowledge of and identify new suppliers in emerging
markets around the world, developing them in an effort to satisfy the
needs of the business.
After the birth of the International Business Group 1997, I was
involved in the re-sourcing of various Aero Engine components into
two new emerging market Countries. I have program managed the
transfer and introduction of Engine Mount components (both New
Engine designs and post development components) into Singapore
Aerospace manufacturing, together with the re-sourcing and transfer
of Ring programmes into XAE in China.
I personally managed the working relationship between the T500
Project work package owner and Singapore Aerospace to enable the
smooth introduction of a newly designed front and rear Engine
Mount system.
The inload of packages into these new procurement markets has
required a great deal of program management, involving both
internal customers and other supply chain vendors. Recognition of the
cultural differences between western and eastern business practices
enabled and established smoother working relationships.
