(From 2014 February to up to date)
My primary responsibilities, being the Head of Internal Audit, were planning, executing
and reporting on operational, financial, and regulatory and compliance related
audits/reviews of Asian Alliance Group by determining compliance with selected
policies, procedures, and regulations. Further to make written recommendations to the
management / Board Audit Committee of the group based on the above, to increase
efficiency and/or effectiveness of the control systems of functions reviewed. Also it was
under my purview to perform special investigations as requested by the management /
Board Audit Committee in addition to the regular audits that is being planned and
executed throughout the respective period.
In addition to the above primary responsibilities, following tasks were executed by me in
order to achieve the said primary objectives.
 Plan financial, regulatory, compliance or operational reviews/audits.
 Coordinate work with Risk, Legal & Compliance and other control-related
activities and with others within Internal Audit.
 Conduct risk assessments and identifies controls in place to mitigate identified
risks.
 Perform audit procedures to verify that controls are operating through testing and
interviewing techniques.
 Analyze and concludes on effectiveness and efficiency of control environment.
 Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
 Document the results of audit work in accordance with audit department and the
Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards and other accounting standards
applicable to.
 Prepare timely audit reports for the management and the Board Audit Committee.
 Act as primary client liaison within Internal Audit for one or more division heads.
 Assess, evaluate and promote compliance to internal policies.
 Contribute, as appropriate, in the year-end financial audit with the external
auditor.
 Provide advice on internal control and participates in enhancing internal audit
standards and practices within AAI group.
 Research new or technical subjects when required to support audits.
 Provide feedback on performance of Internal Auditors, on audit assignments, as
applicable.
