Joined the army in October 2010 soon after being sent to Driving School of Transport at the start of 2011 to learn
how to professionally drive vehicles ranging from quad bikes upto HGV class 1 and 2, after passing the courses I
was sent to 13 Air Assault in Colchester. A high tempo regiment with a lot of commitments and history, soon after
arriving I was deployed out to Kenya on training exercises for 3 months.
2012 I was deployed again to Kenya in support of 1 Royal Irish Regiment where I was driving abnormal loads for
3 months after returning to the UK I was sent to OP Olympic where I was given the job of security on the main
gates of the Olympic park for the full duration of the Olympics and Paralympics and a considerable time before
and after the events actually took place. In late 2012 I was sent over to Oman to carry out logistical support to a
training team out in the country, Once I got into the country I found there documentation system was a disaster so I
took it upon myself to sort and file all the existing vehicle documents and put in place a system that would work
once I had left the country, upon completing this I was personally thanked by the director of special forces for
sorting out the mess that was previously left behind.
2013 I was appointed the Technical managers assistant the job was to maintain the vehicle fleet that we had fully
fit and road worthy, id forecast when vehicles were due a service and dictate what vehicles were priority for the
next servicing and maintain fuel return forms and make sure all vehicle documentation was correct.
In mid-2013 I was deployed overseas again to Canada where I was for 5 months maintain a fleet of fuel tankers
carrying out servicing of the vehicles ranging from monthly checks upto a 5 yearly servicing. November 2013 I was
deployed out again to Kenya in support of 2 parachute regiment for 4 months driving the loads that the paras
needed on the ground.
2014 I deployed again to Kenya to support 2 Parachute Regiment and 23 Royal Engineer Regiment. Whist out in
Kenya I drove various types of vehicles with a wide range of loads from water and rations to high explosives,
doing this I had to maintain a high level of professionalism and carry out correct procedures for carrying such
loads.
2015 I carried on with maintaining vehicle servicing’s and carried out various exercises ranging from Brigade
level down to troop level. As it’s my final year in the army I will not be deployed overseas again and I’m focusing
on preparing myself for a future job
