I work at NICE on the analytics team documenting model requirements for the MIFID 2 and MAD regulations and
investigation of exchanges enforcement of OTR and HFT requirements. These are to be developed into the
Actimize/ETS compliance application which is used at investment banks and other trading organisations. These are
applicable across all European exchanges and products including equities and derivatives. This includes covering the
London Metal Exchange, ICE, Euroex, Xetra, EEX etc
I am now the product owner for the CTS, cloud based , FMC trade data monitoring package. This involves
investigations and monitoing of Business as Usual development work as well as enhancements and strategic
development work such as Swaps coverage and MAR/Mifid compliance work. I work with the product manager and
2 scrum teams, one of which is offshore. This is in an agile environment using the IBM RTC tool plus jira.
May to December 31st 2014 Contract BA at BP (IST Trading)
I worked on the CATS, Trade surveillance project in the compliance department which involved onboarding new
legal entities onto the platform and accountability monitoring for the ICE exchange. This involved discussions and
documentation with the front office, compliance, technical resources and third party suppliers as well as the CME
and ICE trading exchanges around market data and intra and eod trade and position feeds. I also worked on the
Actimize trade monitoring package which involves models such as ETC-WSH monitoring trading data for unusual
trading activity. This is again for the compliance team. This covers trading in both the US and the UK as well as the
following areas, oil, gas,NGL, distillates etc. This also involved some requirements for Mifid II work around
position monitoring and trading limits enforcement.
These projects were carried out in an agile development environment using JIRA for documentation and control of
stories and functional enhancements.
July 29th 2013 to 31stDecember 2013 Contract BA at BP (IST Trading)
I was a BA working on the SIRI project in the compliance team for the control of Delegation ofAuthorities for
trading in Oil, Gas, Power and LNG. This is part of the regulatory work undertaken by the compliance team. It
covered OTC and ETC trading and the associated hedging activities. This was situated across the global BP trading
environment and involved me in discussions with Houston,Chicago and London. It involved me conducting as -is
and to-be analysis and discussig requirements with the Product Control Group and Internal control and other
associated business areas around the processes oftrading controls.
The phase I was involved in covered the assessment of the requirements and the proposed solutions.This involved
the production of Functional Requirements, benefit cases,involving cost and functional benefits, the production of
business cases and associated diagrams in visio for benefits and as-is and to-be business and systemprocesses.We
were also involved in looking at the current and future architectures and how these could be most cost effectively
leveraged for the different aspects ofthe functional requirements. This also involved the production of a project
plan and costs for 1 of the potential solutions.
November 2012 to 26th July 2013 Contract BA at the Bank of England
I worked on a project regarding the generation and control of forecast models generated for the financial policy
committee. This involved the control of the process employed for the generation of models in MatLab but also the
processes involved in proof of the models and their implementation. This was done in an Agile/Scrum environment
using tools like MS Visio and Balsamiq.
I worked on the PRA migration of staffand regulation processes from the FSA to the bank. This involved the
migration of staff, applications and data between the 2 organisations.The processes involved were those for the
prudential regulation of financial services organisations. This required me to undergo SC clearance. As part of this
job I was responsible for documenting and updating the access requirements for maintenance, using AD groups,for
the applications which were ported across.This also involved documenting the use of those applications and the
ownership.

April 10th 2012 to 9th August contract Business Analyst/Project Manager at Bloomberg
I was a BA/PM working on development in the New Energy Finance section at Bloomberg which involved
developing the specification after discussions with the analysts and product owners from the business side and
documenting these and getting sign off from both the business and development teams, answering questions and
keeping track of development and non-development tasks.This involved how information for Commodities used in
power generation, such as Oil, Gas and Biomass was sourced and how it could be displayed on the system. This
also involved how info was made available for interrogating different forms of energy production such as fossil fuels
and green energy sources were recorded and displayed on the system.
I was also involved in data modeling and discussions around analysis techniques. I produced userinterface designs
in Balsamiq and MS Visio and discussed the functionality that had to be implemented on the web pages,how the
desktop and mobile websites might differ and how the interface had to be designed to maximise its usability.
October 07th 2010 to April 09th 2012 Permanent AVP Commodities Business Analyst at BarCap
I worked in the exotics OTC commodities team. The project involved the migration of commodity trade books and
associated tools onto a new risk calculation platform. This involved :
Valuations of OTC contracts.
Working with Openlink Endur and bespoke risk and trade valuation systems.

I worked in the Exotics Commodities Business Analysis teamon a project to replace the existing process for
defining Structured/Exotic Commodity products such as Barrier and Exotic options,for a variety of products such as
oil, power, base and precious metals. I also worked on the agreement and rollout of the models for these options to
the front desk from the QA team and the process for valuing them and the downstreamfeed of information for
pricing and Risk assessment.
We produced UML Use Cases and used Enterprise Architect for process and product modeling. I worked with the
chief business architect in documenting existing reporting requirements and the data modelers for modeling the
existing and the proposed models. I also worked on analyzing the trade data held in the Endur platform and the
initial requirements for a trade entry platform. The development teams were both UK and USA based.
I also worked on a project documenting the processes involved in structured notes issuance and management.
October 2009 to 26th March 2010 Contract Commodities Business Analyst Eon Energy Trading (Dusseldorf)
I worked on a risk reporting data warehouse project where trade details were extracted from Openlink Endur, and
imported into the data warehouse with definition of static data sources.
I specified the reporting requirements, position, exposure and PnL for the front office traders and
the risk management team.
The areas I worked on were Carbon Trading and Nordic Power trading, though this also included
Coal and Oil trading. This primarily covered financial trades, but also some physicals, and both
exchange and OTC trades.
This involved me discussing requirements, such as PnL calculations and exposure for different
trade types, for example Forwards, Futures, Options and Swaps, and different products with the
business, including the market risk teams, and querying and extracting data from Endur as well as
using Endur to examine trade and price curve data.
We employed Agile and UML methods for documenting the business requirements.
This came to an end due to cancellation of the project.
September 2008 to October 2009 Business Analysis Manager at Dealogic
Dealogic provide software, facilities and business intelligence for the Equity Capital markets sections of Investment
Banks. They specialize in share issues and follow ons as well as other related deal types around equities, debt and
loans. They have most of the largest investment banks in the world as their clients. It has offices in London, New
York, Hong Kong, India and Tokyo and Australia. The software was developed using ASP and ASP.Net and is
accessed via a web page viewer, usually Internet Explorer.
I worked as a Business Analysis Manager responsible for the direct management and mentoring
of 6 business analysts, 5 in the UK and one in HK, as well as being responsible for directing the
BA training of other staff and outlining standards across the company.
I was responsible for directing the implementation of Agile methodologies, including the

The applications are developed for deployment over the internet and using Sybase and MS SQL

I worked as a business analyst forthe Trading systems team. The business areas they supported were the Gas, Power
and Oil desks. The team I worked for were responsible for capturing trade details, OTC and Exchange, either
directly entered or from other front end trading systems, such as Trayport and updating back office systems such as
Endur and GaStar. This was a way of centralising the capture of trade entry within the different working
departments.
I worked on capturing requirements for Gas Swaps, Freight Swaps, Oil Swaps, Gas future trading as well as
documenting disaster recovery procedures, position management and the proprietary Coal order estimation systems.
October 2007 to April 2008 Business Analyst at CityNetworks
I was working as a business analyst producing high and low level business requirements and Use Cases for the
rewrite of their Enterprise Reconciliation product which is used by various banks and asset management companies.
The product also processes Swift messages and XML files. Other products they supply include the Drive OTC
derivative trading application. I also performed data analysis using SQL.
May 2006 to 7th June 2007 – Business Analyst at Espeed/BGC (Cantor Fitzgerald)
I was working in the team that provides front office trading tools for the Exchange traded derivative markets and
was a senior member of a 5 strong BA team. As part of this role I helped to mentor more junior analysts. The
applications provided functionality to link to various back end exchanges such as CBOT and CME and for
conducting various trades such as spreads and the use of strategies. It allowed for trading derivatives such as STIRS,
Equity Derivative, Energy derivatives, Interest rate derivatives, Commodities and others on the different exchanges.
I acted as a BA/Project manager using Microsoft Project and Visio, on a project to implement various
improvements to the product including improved trading facilities.
I developed the functional specifications for a new Risk Management system. The Risk management
system involved risk control at various levels including cash and underlying instrument control and
spread risk assessment and cross product risk calculation for the different derivatives being traded. This

I worked as a Business analyst using UML in an RUP development environment. The project was to implement a
new CRM system, Onyx, and a new finance system, Financial Objects, and the migration of the existing data across
to these platforms in a phased approach. We used the rational toolset including IBM Rational Rose, Requisit ePro,
Clearquest and Clearcase for documenting as and to-be aspects of the system. This involved the production of use
cases, running workshops, UML artifact production such as activity diagrams and sequence diagrams and getting
agreement across different departments for the implementation of functionality.

Oct 1995 to 2004 Contract Quasar AP/BA
I worked at various investment organizations such as BNP Parribas, Cazenoves, Newtons and M&G. The work
predominantly focused around middle and back office administration of investment funds. Typically this involved
reporting, portfolio valuations, trade matching, corporate actions, CGT, settlement, unit trusts and system
integration. This was largely around bonds and equity trades with some FX work as well. It was around the
development and support of the various versions of Quasar that exist in the marketplace and the modules used, both
core and non-core Quasar.
