A diligent, experienced and enthusiastic professional with excellent
communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team or independently. A
lateral and innovative thinker, always interested in personal performance and
continuous development, seeking a challenging position offering excellent career
opportunities. The skill set I have developed over the last 5 years at sea on many
different types of vessel has givenme an advantage in my knowledge of Diesel
Engines, Alternators, Prime Movers and all auxiliary and ancillary machinery
associated with the running of merchant marine vessels, and I am looking for the
right position to further progress myself on each of these platforms.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Safely and efficiently operating all engine room plant from a centralised
control room and locally in the engine room.
Responsible for environmental and legal compliance of all activities.
Project management including experience of taking ships in to major refits,
where maintenance is carried out to a strict specification and schedule.
Assessing and taking preliminary action in an emergency, such as loss of
power, loss of propulsion and fires on-board.
Carrying out comprehensive rounds of machinery spaces, rectifying all de-
fective machinery.
Training new 3rd and 4th engineers on watch and also engineering cadets.
Commissioning new plant and machinery.
Maintaining, overhauling and operating large marine diesel engines, Wartsi-
la, Sulzer and MAN B&W.
Specific experience working with oil fired boilers.
Fully competent in fresh water production, treatment, storage and distribu-
tion. (Reverse Osmosis plant and flash type evaporators)
Working with power generation and distribution on a daily basis and fully
competent in all switchboard operations, including HV.
Undertaking maintenance on deck and hotel equipment, lifeboats and life-
boat hydraulic equipment, galleys, industrial laundries and various other
hydraulic systems.
Fuel oil bunkering operations.
Working with multi-national and multi skilled crews.
I have a good working knowledge of AMOS, Simos and various internal
