Use of Computer Graphics In Defense And Education-Trainingshelly mundhra
Computer graphics are used for defense and education/training purposes. In defense, they are used for tracking, air operations, weather operations, positional operations, mapping techniques, and satellite imagery. They allow for real-time monitoring. In education/training, 3D projectors are used in classrooms and have been shown to improve learning over 2D methods. Flight, space shuttle, naval, and automobile simulators provide realistic training without risk and allow trainees to practice emergency procedures. Simulators have been shown to improve performance for pilots and astronauts.

Workshop on Alignment & implementation of National Action programmes with the UNCCD 10-year Strategy in the Arab Region
League of Arab States (18- 20 June 2014), Dubai - UAE
Morocco, Mr. Abdellatif HADDIOUI
The document discusses various technologies used in air traffic control and air navigation, including navigation aids like VOR, ILS, DME, RNAV, and satellite navigation. It also covers flight planning, airport charts, approach charts, and the role of the flight management system.
- AMDAR is an automated aircraft-based observing system that is a component of WMO's WIGOS and GOS observing systems. It provides meteorological data from aircraft in near-real-time to NMHSs and for inclusion on the WMO GTS.
- AMDAR uses existing aircraft sensors and communications to collect parameters like wind, temperature, humidity, and turbulence. The data meets WMO requirements for accuracy and supports aviation operations and numerical weather prediction.
- The roles and responsibilities of the partners involved - WMO, NMHSs, airlines - are defined to establish AMDAR programs, ensure data quality, and maximize the benefits of the additional observations.

The document discusses principles of radar imaging and synthetic aperture radar (SAR). SAR uses signal modulation and range-Doppler processing to achieve high-resolution radar imagery independent of distance to targets. Polarimetric SAR can characterize target scattering properties by measuring the scattering matrix. Interferometric SAR uses two antennas to measure elevation, while differential interferometry detects elevation changes over time for applications like change detection. Emerging techniques include polarimetric interferometry and using polarization signatures to estimate surface tilt and topography.
Modern weather forecasting relies on numerical weather prediction (NWP) models that integrate systems of equations governing atmospheric processes. NWP models have evolved from early conceptual models to high-resolution global and regional models run on supercomputers. Continuous observations from satellites and other sensors are assimilated using data assimilation techniques to initialize models. Ensemble modeling addresses forecast uncertainty. Though limited by incomplete understanding and observations, NWP provides increasingly accurate forecasts out to around two weeks.
Drones are shaping the construction industry as we know it. There are obvious - and less obvious - applications of these flying wonders for the construction and engineering industries. In this post, we look at the ‘state of the art’ as it is today, and touch on a few key themes for the future.
The document provides an overview of the Instrument Landing System (ILS), which uses radio beams to guide aircraft during approaches and landings. It describes the key components of the ILS, including the localizer and glide path antennas that transmit horizontal and vertical guidance signals. It also explains how the onboard instruments in the cockpit indicate to the pilot whether adjustments are needed to stay aligned with the centerline and glide slope of the runway. The ILS was first used for a scheduled passenger flight in 1938 and was later standardized by ICAO to improve safety during low visibility operations.
The document provides information for flight attendant trainees of Pinnacle Airlines, including requirements for initial training, items to bring to training, training attire and appearance standards, and an overview of the airline's mission and values focusing on safety, customer service, and respect for employees. Trainees must pass written and skills exams, complete 5 hours of in-flight experience, and adhere to dress code to successfully complete the 21-day initial training program.
The document discusses airport foreign object debris (FOD), including definitions and responsibilities of airports and airlines. It describes common sources of FOD, such as infrastructure degradation, construction materials, and jet blast. Methods for controlling FOD include training, inspections, coordinated maintenance and communication between airports and airlines. New technologies like radar and cameras can also detect FOD on runways and taxiways. The key is an active, team-based effort between all parties to identify, remove and prevent FOD to improve safety.
