Swiss Re
05.2015 - 07.2017 (at the latest) Underwriting and Claims manager EMEA for iptiQ. Starting as the
first UW and claims person in iptiQ, all UW and claims related issues and
questions came on my table both internally and externally (manager Berthold
Weber). Key tasks have been developing underwriting and claims philosophy,
setting up underwriting and claims solutions for the distribution partners,
providing support and risk assessment from an underwriting and claims
perspective.
01.2014 - 05.2015 Underwriting manager Operations. Responsible for a new underwriting support
department set up for Benelux, Switzerland and Middle East with a team of 3
other underwriters (manager John Turner). Due to the successful
implementation of this set up, it has been expanded with Italy and France now.
The main tasks were creating a new team of underwriters, train them and make
sure that all cases were done appropriately, on time and with good quality.
Additional tasks were reporting and KPI's within the EMEA hub, doing audits
internally and externally and support the UW managers with training, seminars
and other ad hoc tasks.

2. 07.2011 - 01.2014 Underwriting Manager Benelux. Responsible for all underwriting issues in a
team of 4 for Belgium, Luxemburg and the Netherlands. Support all
underwriters, giving training both internally and externally, audits and
relationship management were the main tasks (manager John Turner). Normal
underwriting cases was also part of the daily job. We had very good results in
the NMG scores, very good client feedback and built up a well performing team
(2 are now the responsible managers for Belux/Netherlands).
12.2006 - 07.2011 Underwriter Benelux. Doing underwriting cases but also supporting in setting up
the new underwriting workflow and building up the relationship with local
clients after closing the offices both in Belgium and the Netherlands, training
and audits were key tasks (manager Carole Ostarena). We have successfully
transferred the underwriting from the Benelux to Switzerland.
10.2003 - 12.2006 Claims consultant, responsible for the Indian market, support other (mainly)
Asian markets (manager Loraine van Eeden). Case assessment, client audits and
training for clients were the main tasks.
Zurich Insurance
06.2001 - 10.2003 Underwriter and claims assessor for Zurich International Solutions (part of
Zurich Insurance group). Main tasks were assessment for both underwriting and
claims for individual and group business for worldwide business (with a focus on
Europe and Asia).
Generali Personenversicherung
07.1999 - 06.2001 Underwriter for Generali Personenversicherung. Underwriting cases for the
Swiss Market from a medical, financial, avocational and residence perspective
and contact with brokers and clients were the main tasks.
