This letter provides a recommendation for Denis Hilgert, who conducted research for TravelBird in Amsterdam from April to August 2016 as part of his bachelor's program at Hotelschool The Hague. The research involved analyzing the solo travel market and developing possibilities for a new TravelBird product. Hilgert incorporated reputable models and theories, delivered all information on time, and produced a report that impacted TravelBird's new product planning. TravelBird was satisfied with Hilgert's work and highly recommends him for further scientific work or product development roles.

Letter of Recommendation for Mr. Denis Hilgert
To whom it may concern:
We are pleased to provide this letter of recommendation for Mr. Denis Hilgert.
Mr. Denis Hilgert, born 16th
August 1990 in Lahnstein has conducted a research project for
TravelBird in Amsterdam from April 2016 to including August 2016. This project was part of
Mr. Hilgerts Bachelor program in cooperation with Hotelschool The Hague.
TravelBird is a fast growing online provider for leisure travel located in Amsterdam. The firm
was established in the year 2010 and sees itself as an inspiration for the undecided
holidaymaker. The company creates together with its business partner’s holiday packages
and advertises them on different channels to a discounted price. Currently TravelBird
employs more than 400 international employees and operates in Germany, Austria,
Switzerland, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, France, Norway, Finland, The Netherlands
and Belgium.
Hotelschool The Hague is an international university which offers a Bachelor in Business
Administration in Hotel Management. As a part of the final step to graduate, a research
project for an external tourism company is conducted. Hotelschool The Hague is constantly
listed among the top five hotel and tourism universities in the world.
Due to the increasing demand for solo travel, Mr. Hilgert received the task to research and
analyze the current scope and potential of the market. This included an extensive analysis
of the solo traveler’s characteristics, a competitive analysis as well as an internal analysis of
Travelbird. The research project had the objective to showcase possibilities for the launch of
a new product within the portfolio of the firm. Mr. Hilgert had to present the result of his
quantitative and qualitative research in the form of a written research report including a
strategic management advice.

Due to his ability to quickly understand and comprehend, Mr. Hilgert could incorporate into
the research topic very quickly. In order to carry out this project, Mr. Hilgert used a variety
of reputable models and theories in a very successful manner. He has always met deadlines
and delivered all the information required to our complete satisfaction.
We are happy to confirm that Mr. Hilgert’s report had an impact on our further planning of a
new product category. Especially his external analysis proved to be extremely helpful when
assessing the competition and developing useful strategies. The research report
incorporated a management advice of high value and was presented in a very appealing
way including all the required content and useful supplementary material. The report was
written in perfect English. Accordingly, in every respect we are very satisfied by the work
done by Mr. Hilgert.
We would like to thank Mr. Hilgert for the carried out research project and the pleasant
cooperation. Without hesitation we highly recommend Mr. Hilgert for any further scientific
work and other work in the field of product development. We wish Mr. Hilgert for his private
and professional future success and all the best.
