Simulating Brain’s Activity Using Electrodes. Project Title:
Two sessions per week for two hours during a period of 8 weeks. The class will be designed for seniors in high school in order to give them an idea of how research is conducted in college.  Class Schedule:
Making electrodes, and cleaning them. Characterizing the electrodes and depositing carbon nanotubes on them. Learning about Matlab and the wave generation program. Interpreting the results in Matlab and making a choice of the electrodes. Anesthetizing and Extracting snail brains.  using the chosen electrodes to simulate the brains activity Objectives:
15 sessions in total The third of the class will be devoted to learn about snails and how to extract their brains. The second third will concentrate on how to make the electrodes, characterize them, ands select the best ones based on their stability. The last part will focus on how to use the chosen electrodes to simulate the snail’s brains. Course Overview
Assessments: Multiple tests are given in order to have a higher chance of getting good grades
By this point the students should have mastered how to characterize the electrodes; I will teach them how to transfer the created binary files to the Matlab directory and run them in order to get the following graphs. Sample Lesson Plan (session 11)
By this point the students should be able to determine which of the electrodes would potentially give them the best results; hence, I could teach them the necessary information about the snails.
