- 4. HOW HAS TECHNOLOGY MADE OUR LIVES BETTER? Technology allows us to connect with people all over the world by a simple slide of a finger across a screen, or by connecting to a social network such as Facebook. When we are sick, a doctor can look into our body now, with a small camera, and view everything through a specialized monitor to better help us. 4
- 5. TECHNOLOGY AT HOME. • Without the advancements in technology, we would not have the flat screen television. People would still be watching big box televisions. 5
- 6. THE DESKTOP PERSONAL COMPUTER (PC). Do you remember desktop computer? Of course you don’t, because with the advancements in technology, most people own a laptop computer, or the more popular tablet. Although desktop PCs are still around, they are not the most popular computer form any longer. 6
- 7. THE LAPTOP. • The successor of the desktop PC, and if you don’t believe so, just look here. Thanks to the major advancements and a lot of dedicated minds, programmers, and designers, the laptop was designed, and took the technology world by storm. 7
- 8. THE TOUCH SCREEN. 8 With all of the advancements in the world of technology, now we have the ability to touch a computer screen and navigate controls this way. The touch screen is another feature taking the world by storm in our phones and computers.
- 9. PALMTOP COMPUTER (PDA) • If you are a businesswoman or man, think about how much better your professional life is now, thanks to the PDA. It allows a person to be able to add important documents, appointments, and much more through this handy little device. Everything you need, right at your finger tips. 9
- 10. Internet based phones. Thanks to the advancements in technology, now a person can use their mobile phone to make their life easier. A person can remote into their home using an internet-based application (App) and unlock the front door for their children to come inside. How fantastic is that? 10
- 11. DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER (DVR) Let’s look at the world of television technology advancements. If you miss your favorite television show now, you can just DVR it, and watch it at a later time. 15 years ago, this technology wasn’t even thought of yet. 11
- 12. SOCIAL NETWORKING. In our tech-savvy society, people get use great tools such as Facebook, Skype, or FaceTime to connect with family members, friends, and college mates all over the world. 12

- This is the introduction slide, go over the purpose of the presentation, introduce yourself, and have a room ice breaker so you can meet the audience.
- Ask the audience to take a moment and think about how technology has made their lives better and more convenient, then ask each person to give at least one example of this.
- During this slide, ask the audience to think about a time before technology entered their world, and ask each person to give an example of what he/she did with his/her time.
- Talk to the audience about the current world of electronics such as T.Vs, Blu-rays, and more.
- Speak to the benefits of the desktop home computer, how it is the first of its kind, and how we have evolved since its release.
- Go over the many benefits of owning and using a laptop computer such as mobility, the ease of using it anywhere that WI-FI is available, and the benefits that they are for college students; especially, ones on the go.
- Go over the many benefits of the touchscreen computer and its cool features such as the touch screen keypad. Speak to how the touch screen is nearly a requirement for all computer based products now (IPhone, Android phone, tablet, PDAs, and laptops).
- Express a lot of enthusiasm for the arrival of the PDA and get the audience’s thoughts around it.
- Ask for the audience’s thoughts on internet based phones and how useful they are now in today’s society.
- Ask the audience how much better is their T.V watching lives now; thanks to the DVR. Ask the audience who they feel provides the best DVR service (Comcast, DirecTV, etc).
- Use this slide to go over the many benefits of social networking.
