where the official or employee will undergo medical

parental leave of not more than 7 working days every
year shall be granted to any solo parent employee

leave with updated Solo Parent Identification Card

• Service/Leave credits earned by teachers
for services rendered on activities during. summer
or christmas vacation or in the course of the school
year.
SERVICE/ LEAVE CREDITS
•Service/Leave credits are used to offset
absences of a teacher due to illness. To offset
absences on account of illness, one (1) work day
service credit is used to offset one (1) day of
absence.

•Teachers shall earn service credits which shall not
exceed 15 days which is the maximum number of
days of service credits earned in a year except in
cases authorized by the Secretary upon the
recommendation.

• Study Leave of not exceeding one (1) school year may be granted to teachers who have rendered at least
seven (7) years in service. A teacher shall be entitled to at least 65% of his monthly salary provided he takes
regular study load & passes at least 75% of the courses. Study leave of more than one (1) year shall be
permitted by the DepEd Secretary but without compensation.
• Indefinite Leave is granted to Teachers when the nature of the illness demands a long treatment that will
exceed one year at the least. A teacher applying for indefinite sick leave of absence should submit a Medical
Certificate (CS Form 41) and CS Form 6 (Application for Leave) stating the approximate maximum number of
days he expects to be on leave, subject to change as the government physician may recommend.
Rehabilitation leave is a leave privilege granted to allow qualified government officials and employees to
recuperate from wounds or injuries sustained while in the performance of duties.
• Performance of duty means situations where the employee is already at work. It may also cover situations
where the employee or official meets an accident while engaged in activities inherent to his/her work
including being on official travel, official business outside work station, authorized overtime, detail or special
assignment. Injuries from accidents that occurred while going to work and going home from work may be
considered sustained while in the performance of official duties.
